This is more of a ‘wildlife sanctuary’ than a zoo. The animals are in surroundings which are as close to their natural habitat as can be imagined and in some cases you actually walk through the enclosure allowing you to pet, hold and feed them. Dotted around the park are ‘zoo-keepers’ with individual animals that you can interact with from...

Great family fun day. There is alot of walking and would get really hot in summer months so take plenty of water and pram for younger kids(or they can be hired there) very expensive though like most tourist attractions. Lots to see must try and get to animal feedings and shows.
What a credit to both Steve and Terry Irwin. This is not just a zoo but a hands on experience wherever possible. Attached to the zoo is the animal hospital which I heard is one of the largest wildlife hospitals in the world. Need to check on that. The message through out the zoo and hospital is one of conservation...

My husband and i went to the zoo last week with the grandkids and thought the place was marvellous. The kids loved the lions and monkeys in particular
Great day out. Definitely need a full day to see everything. Feeding the elephants a highlight, go to the afternoon session, less people around. Good selection of food available even for kids, kids packs a bit pricey. Well maintained and looked after animals. Crops show worth seeing, not for the crocs but for the bird display!
Spent the whole day their, great fun fed roo's, saw lots of crocs had my picture taken with a koala, lots to see would defintly return
Spent most of a day there and would have stayed longer, but had to get checked in to our next lodging by 6pm. Loved seeing iconic Australian animals in person for the first time...the dingoes, wombats, tazzies, crocs, roos and, of course, the koalas. Paid $20 for my photo holding a koala, then found more koalas in the park which...

Easy to cover the large expanse using the tran system that has been well though out!
Tip: Some of the items at the gift shops are a...

We arrived at Australia Zoo just before midday, which was probably as late as you'd want to arrive. I'd really recommend arriving before 10am and check the shows timetable on the website beforehand. That way, you can really make the most of your visit and not miss anything.
The entry fee is a bit steep (though all in a good...
