Circle of Missé is a writing and cookery school like no other. A cosy, creaky old house bristling with character and swaddled in the aromas of its rural setting, and of the always-on fresh coffee, local wines and provisions and, of course, the magnificent feasts-in-preparation. I slept in a bed more comfortable than my own, in a room that fell... More

We had an amazing wine weekend with the gentlemen at Circle of Misse. They arranged absolutely everything and made our whole group feel so at home. We definitely didn't want to leave (and can't wait to go back!). We weren't really sure what we wanted to do or see, except that we wanted to learn more about wine and pairing... More

What can I say, that I haven’t said already. This was my fifth visit to this very special writers' retreat in the Loire Valley. This time for three glorious weeks. I will continue returning until I am too feeble and old to fly from Australia to France. The food is luscious with many local specialities. The “lunch box” is a... More

It does what it says on the tin. A retreat where if you want peace and solitude, you can get to grips with what you are doing - in this case writing a novel ( there are also painting and cooking courses ) The food is sublime, you will be part of a "family", you will shed a tear when... More

Loved every moment! Artistic life can only be at its best when edited by Wayne and fed by Aaron and Allison.

Describing Circle of Misse as a writing retreat is as inadequate as describing The Queen as posh. It's peaceful, remote and very lovely, but so much more. From the moment you are met at the airport, responsibilities are removed like a coat, and every care is given to ensure there's nothing to interrupt your writing. You are made to feel... More

I have recently returned home from my 4th visit to Circle of Misse where I spent my time writing, thinking, and indulging myself in the luscious meals prepared by hosts Wayne and Aaron. Superb. Some evenings Wayne held literary salon – it’s like a book club with wines and local food. Friday was movie night with freshly prepared pizzas. What... More

I arrived home last week after spending a month in Europe. During that time I had 16 glorious days at the Circle of Misse – my third visit - and how I wish it had been longer. I love Paris and Florence, but Misse, where creativity links with gastronomy, is the perfect place where writers can relax, think and dream.... More

Circle of Missé offers writers and artists the perfect conditions to discover and develop their creativity in a relaxed and beautiful environment. Aaron and Wayne's farmhouse in the Loire Valley is relaxed, comfortable and beautifully decorated, and the gardens and fields around are ideal for working outside, a post lunch-nap or a stroll to reactivate the little grey cells. Guests... More
