it was an easy drive from hangzhou there but the entrance fee of RMB80 was a rip off! later we found out some villagers were smuggling visitors in for RMB30! meandering cobbled pebble streets. wear very soft comfortable shoes!! painful walk. interesting to see how people lived in the past though, it was an eye opener... it is truly an... The car park full of tour busses is the first clue of what is to come. What was once a lovely old village has been 'done over' and this ancient town lacks the authenticity and charm that some other ancient villages in China offer.
