ANOTHER beautiful Miyakojima beach! As the photos show, its also a beautiful natural rock sculpture. We went a cpl times and were surprised by how any tours buses drop off passengers who step onto the beach, take a few pix and leave. Move over to the far right and grab a slab of wood palette from inside the cave and... More

We could see many fishes close to the rock. Very beautiful beach with soft white sand. Water was very hot clear. Love it !

Miyakojima has several great beaches, but Sunayama would have my vote for the best. One of the amazing things about all of the beaches on the island is that none of them were too crowded at any point during our stay, and Sunayama followed suit. It's a quick drive from the main part of town and you have to walk... More

you get there in 10 minutes drive from hirara, and 10 minutes walk from the parking. The beach is very small, with a beatiful rock arch at one side. The sea is nice even if not extraordinary, good for swimming and -much less- for snorkeling. Overall, a very nice place, you wonder how it is possible that so few people... More

Similar to its name, it is a small hill of sand leading to an small and quiet, but absolutely beautiful beach. It is not easy to climb up the sand-hill in hot summer, but the view is definitely worth the sweat!

Nice soft white sand, with some interesting rocky features and turquoise super clear water. Their are no lifeguards present at this beach though.

Like the title says it does take a bit of effort to get here. There is parking lot with access to bathrooms and showers first. Once you park your car, you follow the path past a person selling drinks and other souvenirs. If it's hot out the walk won't be fun, but trust me, it is worth it. Walk about... More

It seems like the nicer beaches comes with a struggle. There's a parking lot and signs to show you where the beach is located, but beware the uphill climb. That's not to say that you'll be out of breath by the time you hit the shore, but if you're anything like me-- you'll be panting. There's also plenty of wild... More

From the car park, be prepared for quite a walk into and out of this beach but the reward for your efforts is wonderful. Crystal clear waters - clean white sand - relatively quiet even at the weekend and a picture of the famous arch shaped rock. Once down there you can rent chairs, umbrellas, snorkel gear and rubber rings... More

This beach is beyond beautiful! The fine sand, clear waters and beautiful rock formations adding to its landscape. Be warned, as the name suggests, the entrance to this beach is a mountain of sand. you have to walk uphill before being greeted by the majestic view at the "peak". We spend an hour soaking in the clear waters. Small groups... More
