This place is a haven for flower enthusiasts. The gardening work here is stunning. Great thought and care has been put into this special place. Apart from flowers there are beautiful trees, fountains and lovely walkways. Although you are not allowed to picnic on the lawns there are picnic areas with wooden seating and also a small childrens play area.

Beautiful gardens and well worth a visit, we spent a pleasant hour just strolling around and also sitting to admire the gardens and take in all the lovely flower beds, a credit to all who tend them. Will also keep the children interested as lots of the beds are made to look like animals and insects etc. Do not miss... More

A sweet little park packed full of flowers and plants - lovely place for a little stroll but I wouldn't make a special journey for the park alone as it is very small.

A beautiful way to chill in this lovely town. A wide range of shrubs and plants and beautiful displays make this a great place to visit or to stop en route to or from Cherbourg.

In a town which is particularly attractive for its flowers, this garden is quite outstanding. You are stepping into a botanic garden in the style dear to the nineteenth-century French and to the Victorians, with elaborately arranged flower-beds, fountains, a spacious central walk with plants spilling out of urns, and, further from the centre, a wooded area with many species... Coutances is very proud of its garden, and with justification. I am not an expert, but enjoyed walking round it very much.

If you're visiting Coutances any time in spring/summer/autumn reserve 30 mins for a visit to this garden. Nice scale with typically lively French floral displays. This years theme is "the Arts" but previous years have dedicated designs to Music, the Tour de France etc etc. Great views from the lower terrace over typical Cotentan countryside

My family and I have visited these gardens frequently over the last 25 years as we often stay nearby. They are very conveniently situated near to the cathedral and main square of Coutances and have been sculpted out of the hillside on the west side of the square. There are beautiful views out over the valley to the west towards... More
