coconut Lagoon took us on a beautiful sunset cruise on the tranquil waters of Lake Vembanad. Save for the excessive water hyacinths, the cruise was an experience for my children but was extremely calming for the others on the boat. We had live music on the boat with popular traditional and bollywood music being played on a flute. Extremely good!

Houseboat journey through Kerala backwaters is really amusing. We have opted Alappuzha backwater. One Mr.Prajeesh Devasia conducted our houseboat trip. We were greeted in alappuzha by prajeesh and helped us to checkin in the houseboat. The crew served the lunch immediately after the checkin. Journey through allapuzha backwater is one of the unique experience we ever had.Watched fishing, village life and... More

We arrived at the jetty to find that our houseboat was reserved exclusively for just the two of us and we were shown to our very comfortable double bedroom-complete with full en-suite facilities. We were given a complimentary drink as we set off and spent the next several hours cruising lazily along, looking at the scenery and taking lots of... More

We spent one night on a housboat and travelled from Appelay to Philip Kutty's Farm. An absolute must. We had 3 meals all of which were fantastic. How the do this in the space provided I don't know! Crew were very informative and it was great to see life along the backwater. The bedroom was quite spacious with a king... More

We meandered through the backwaters, watching the men fishing off poles, the farmer with his hundreds of ducks following him everywhere. The ladies were washing their clothes and dishes in the water and the children were having great fun swimming. A glorious journey!!

Lovely boat-ride through the backwaters of Kerala in Kumarakom. Very interesting to see how people live on the banks of the backwaters and canals. Plenty of bird-life (some quite exotic) as well as lotuses and other flowers.
