The approach to this place is more than a Km from the road and one has to walk the distance. Not suitable esp with elders/ladies and small kids.

This place is best to visit during birds migratory season. Else it would only mean a boat ride through the Vembanadu like. We could see only a few birds of different species.....

We went in off season,. so we have not seen any birds. But you can have a nice walk inside the park. It was clean and well maintained. In between you go for boat riding ( Not motor boat, normal boat), we have paid Rs 250 for 2 person. He took us for a long round inside the lagoon and... More

It was a wild and rugged walk through the sanctuary. It was a day after a heavy week of rain, but we got a sunny day with some drizzling in between. In the middle of Kerala backwaters it is a paradise for nature and bird lovers. Around 15 kilometers from Kottayam town it is an easily reachable location. A trek in the dawn would be a really exhilarating experience

We just walked around for a couple of kilometers in the month of August. It is a complimentary entry for those who stay at KTDC property. It is a thick wooded property and you find water canals and except for some butterflies we did not spot any birds. As it is not a season to watch birds ,but a quite experience.
