Got chance to be there.. post breakfast at the KTDC resort, proceed to watch bird sanctuary. It was long way to reach the watch tower but at the same time amazing to have a feeling of trecking in jungle.. smell, sounds, vision, feeling of temperature, evertything was amazing and then came the watch tower.

if you're a bird lover (which I am not) you will love the place. I had to rely upon the more knowledgeable ones in the group to tell me about the birds that we did sight - but overall its a good day trip to make.

had been to this place with family, Office Personnel gave instructions properly that we need to go by walk for a distance of 2 to 2.5km and there we can find two Bird Watch towers.. They gave instructions proper stating that this period is Nesting time for Birds and you can watch Birds from Second tower.. we are lucky to... More

Good place to relax and take great pictures. It is green every where and if you are lucky you can see colourful birds. Many small eatouts are nearby where cheap food is available. TTDC has a beer parlour nearby. You can also travel in a boat.

I am Indian while my partner is English. It cost me 50 Rupees to get into the sanctuary while it was 150 Rupees for my partner. Glad to know that the Indian government hasn't forgotten the imperial days. It is a 2 hour trek through the sanctuary ( we did it in April which is really really hot and humid)... More

The information centre at the entrance was good and the naturalist was informative. There is a 2 km walk to a tower that looks over nesting sites, where storks, egrets and cormarants were very active. The walk is through jungle, but the path is well paved. There was not much to see on the path itself, unless an animal or... More

I am a bird watcher but with that mind if you will go there you will get disappointed. You will not see much birds there because of the thick forest. you may can see waterfowl, cuckoo, owl, egret, heron, cormorant, moorhen, darter, brahminy kite etc. you will have to walk around 4 km from the gate i think. the pathways... The setting is excellent but the authorities should trim the overgrown trees around the watch tower to get a better view of the birds. There should be a ban on firecrackers around this area as there was a lot of noise from the firecrackers which might have scared the birds away. Good to place to go but the experience can... More
