It was a perfect place for a morning 2 hour walk. When asked, many villagers said bad reviews on the forest, but i felt is as a right place for jogging. This is a heaven for bird watchers where birds are visible from the huts built.

The place might be good one, bit the right time need to be known. Visited in August and hardly found any birds .. Except for 2 species. But the location s very exciting, walking on narrow walk lanes inside the jungle environment.

It must have been the wrong season - there were only quite a few birds. There is a walkway which goes around the border of the sanctuary and not into it. Makes sense because with crowds no birds would flock there. The place is good for a long beautiful walk - you can go around the bird sanctuary but among... More

Bird Sanctuary is good outdoor activity in Kumarakom. This was second time I was visiting here and I was expecting development. I was surprised to see only fees raised but no improvement in facilities. Take care of mosquitoes and carry good amount of water ( as It is very humid there ). Please check for timing to see birds otherwise... More

Not very special, but for bird lover, it may be one attraction. You can hire small boat and guide from KTDC. When we visited, saw only few birds.

No tour guides available the time we went lots of mosquitoes and did not see a single bird. Our driver had advised us against going to this place however we still went was not worth it.

Amazing 2 kms trek and offcourse saw a lot of birds from tower 2. Another option is to take a boat and one would be close to nature.

very disappointing. We didn't see any birds but it was a nice walk along the paths if a bit boring. It was hot but the trees gave plenty shade. Some an awesome lizard looking thing, totally massive.
