This sanctuary was about 10 kilometers from the resort, which we stayed.The main attractions are local birds like waterfowl, cuckoo, owl, egret, heron, cormorant, moorhen, darter, and brahminy kite, as well as the migratory Siberian crane. Parrot, teal, lark, flycatcher. ( we got this information from the guide ) Since this was not the right time, we couldn't see much... More

We Stayed in Whispering Palms.... Bird Sanctuary is around 9 KM from that resort.... Actually this was not the Right Season for Visiting Bird Sanctuary.... But We found some variety of birds...

Must see attraction of Backwaters. Get to see Sibarien Cranes along with other bird life. Very nice bird sanctuary at scenic backwaters.

Its within the KTDC premises and they have managed to keep it Raw. If you are a nature lover you will love this place. Originally owned by a britisher, the pathways and waterways are still the same,Its a 2km walk from the entrance. A place where you can view a lots of birds n insects. An early morning walk here... After paying entrance fee watch small documentary to understand which types of birds are there and then start appx 2km walk through the dence forest like old plantation of rubber trees. variety of birds ,different species some endangered species,especially some tropical birds.some of the birds that you only see in this place its is so good,its give me a good thrill to my heart

We reached too early i.e. around 6:15 AM in the morning. It was around 2 KM walk before we reached the watch tower. Go to the last watch tower and carry binoculars and be patient if you want to see the birds. The road was scary as we walk through kind a forest.

probably a mistake...since one should be an ardent follower to understand such place...not very exciting,,especially on a wet day......nature lovers...pls do your research on timing and attraction before committing precious vacation days to it..

The road less travel took us to the core of a sanctuary, we had done a study of best timings to visit the place so reached there in afternoon.
