The tour guide spoke in French, but would field questions in English also. On the property is a beautiful English style rose garden.

French friends who know the area recommended we stop at Josselin Chateau on our way from Mount St. Michel to Locmariaque in Brittany. Although we got a bit lost (French small roads are a challenge) we found the chateau amidst a very charming town named after it. There is ample public parking nearby and you enter the chateau through the... More

Josselin CHATEAU is set by the river and despite being half its original size it is enormous and beautiful. The church has many interesting feaures and climbing up the tower is free and gives splendid panoramic views. We ate in the main square where there is a great choice of restaurants and there are lots of timber framed houses in... More

We went to Josselin to see the Château and town, pleasantly surprised, very quaint, great architecture and the château was full of historical content, the guide was brilliant and very animated, and the current owners, still reside their, interesting to learn the history behind the château, and the town held some cool photographic opportunities. This is a fist trip to... More

To see the interior of the chateau, you have to take the tour. However, this is limited to the ground floor rooms, which are interesting, but brief. They do provide an English-language tour - once a day when we visited, which was at 2-30pm, so we also fitted in some time in the town and some lunch in the square.... More

The Outside is amazing, grounds are nice and well worth spending some time looking around. The Chateau visit its self is limited to 4 rooms (dining room, antechamber, main drawing room and the library) on the ground floor and there is French commentary, English commentary once a day. The explanation is worth while the guided tour without verbal explanation in my... More

The grounds are OK and well worth spending some time looking around ..The Chateau visit its self is limited to 4 rooms on the ground floor and there is no English commentary which you should maybe not expect but the sections written in the English leaflet takes no more than 2 minutes per room to read , but the French... As many other contributors have indicated, you can only tour the dining room, antechamber, main drawing room and the library. We were told that the family opens the chateau up to the public in order for a tax break. Since it is still a family home, you cannot see the other floors. For insurance purposes, you are unable to take... More

We visited this town a couple of days ago and luckily the weather was very nice, sunny and bright. As you enter the town you only see this magnificent and imposing castle and what a wonderful sight it is. It runs alongside the Nantes-Brest Canal which is also very pretty in this town. Walk alongside the canal from the car... More
