Charming baroque church

This is off the main pedestrian street in the town centre and it has a light uplifting interior that is well worth visiting.

Sitting next door to the town hall and fitting perfectly in the piazza, this church is a fine example of Sicilian Baroque and infuses a sense of calm. Worth a visit.

This imposing church is situated on the centrally located Via Penne. It has a magnificent Baroque frontal façade and is accessed up an imposing set of steps. Once inside it is bright and white with a spectacularly painted ceiling. Pride of place goes to very large painting with a dark background of Christ wearing a skirt which is a representation... This is worth looking at - one of the many churches which look so impressive. We didnt know the significance of anything so probably lost out on its value

This jewel of Sicilian Baroque is located on the pedestrianised Via Penna just along from the town hall. The wonderful exterior architecture dates from the 1760’s and the interior decorations, such as stucco and gilding date from 1854. It’s worth visiting just for the ceiling decoration alone, and although a lot smaller than the Dormas in Modica and Ragusa it... More

A must see while visiting Scicli there are 3 beautiful churches to see. Some of the best Baroque style we have seen ion Sicily. Awesome architecture from the outside. Very grand. A older gentlemen took us around the church and showed us a painting of Jesus on the cross and when you turn the picture upside down it reveals another... More

We traveled all over southern Sicily. Monica, Ragusa, and all the big tourist places but nothing compared to the three churches in Scicli. Off season, perfect weather, easy access (not typical of most of the towns in this part of the world) and absolutely stunning Baroque architecture. You will not be disappointed, but you might wonder why you spent all... More

We had lunch in the square and faced this building and Montalbano's office which is nextdoor. Both beautiful buildings from outside. So on finishing lunch we had to go inside. We are so glad we did , it is such an unexpected delight, extremely calm and stunning. People in quiet prayer .A little gem.
