We were told by locals to visit the castle as we were staying in Deva and it was close. I am so glad we did. It is an amazing castle, it looks so good on the outside and inside was ok as well. It only cost 20lei to get in so 5 euros which is very reasonable. If you are... More

It's good that Romania, Hunedoara county invested in this historical castle. From outside it looks amazing. Inside, rooms are empty. The visiting plan it's confusing, tag names on the doors/rooms are wrong. On first floor it was written: Garrison's kitchen, in fact inside was a model of the castle, a Christmas tree and heating radiators so ugly mounted. I understood... More

Amazing old castle. Got to see pretty much everything for the entrance fee, unlike many others where you don't get to see all the rooms. Only downside was the rooms were labelled with what they used to be but nothing in them followed this. For example the "wine cellar" was a souvenir shop and the "ladies day room" had nothing... You can see here a part of our history, what man can build with his own hands and resist through ages. Also you can imagine some fights in the past if you are a dreamer :)

Extremely beautiful and big. One of the most impressive castles in Romania. Really nice on the outside, not so much on the inside, although there are a few interesting rooms. Entrance fee is small if you're a student

One of Transylvania's finest castles; the ancient fortress was built for Mathias Corvin and was partially renovated in the last few years. The castle is absolutely amazing and is one of the nicest that you can find in Romania. Admission is not expensive. It is worth trying to seeing it in the dark, even if you won't be able to... More

This is a beautiful and impressive fortress that you have to see if you're in Romania. It tops the list as one of Europe's most amazing castles. Don't be put off by the industrial buildings crumbling away as you drive in. Pay in Romanian for parking at the lot and then for entrance at the main gate. Lots to see... More

My husband and I decided to travel out of our way just to see this castle that we had seen photos of and we were thrilled when we got there. While it doesn't look like much getting there, although it looks as though they are working on improving that., once you turn the corner and see the castle it takes your... More

The castle is a great place to visit and has great views. There are a lot of rooms, all with description of what was happening in them. I saw no fee for taking photos.

A must see destination when visiting the west/ center part of Romania. Small entrance and Foto fee, a lot to see. Discover all the rooms and admire the view
