Place is on our to have fun and buy cheese products. My wife had a chance to attend the butter and cheese workshop, instructions with sketches were written in few languages, one of them was English. It is fun to learn something new. Had a chance to buy cheese cake + snacks. Place is recommended if you wanna join the... More

We asked our hotel concierge to help us sign up just 3 days before. We went in with our aprons on, all ingredients and instructions provided for, with 4 kids next to us also on the same workstation. Instructure didnt speak any English, but with a little help from the friendly classmates and simple instructions in Japanese, soft cheese ready... More

Furano Cheese Craft Center was a gigantic flop! The place was packed with tour bus crowds during our late-afternoon visit on a Saturday in early August. Aside from a few static displays, there was little to see. The establishment's main purpose apparently is to sell cheese...which, while decent, is hardly unique or special. The same products are available at markets... More

I do not recommend this place. Was expecting a cheese farm like those in Amsterdam but this one isn't even close. I spared one whole afternoon to see the cheese but ended up it is a place you could finish in 1 hour or so, well there's a pizzeria and an ice-cream bar aside but in Hokkaido ice-cream is just... On the way driving back to our hotel in Furano made a short trip here. It was getting late and dusky (about 4.pm) so did not expect to see anything going on in the factory, just to pick up some cheese to go with the Furano wine we had bought. There was not a soul about so went upstairs to... More

A very quick tour of this Cheese Factory in Furano...there is no cheese making activity or production going on during our visit, except for the cheese products showroom and sales outlet on the upper level of this building. Also, there was not much variety of cheese to sample at the counter except for some Cheddar and Brie cheese...these are good... More

There were no staff to welcome us when we entered, so after observing cheese making through a few window screens and walked up to the shop area, we wondered if we missed direction. Then we and other mighty tourists ended up waiting half an hour for their pizza for lunch.

We had just an hour to spare at the place, so we decided to attend the ice cream workshop in the morning. A group of 4 is needed to sign up. The class took about half an hour. We learned how to make ice cream and waffle. Very easy to prepare. A good basic to make one of your own... More
