Booked a passage on Pirates Cove Whale Watching owned by the Sessions family out of Tiverton Harbor on Digby Neck. The vessel was a 42 foot lobster boat that converts to a tour boat at the end of the lobster season. The vessel was captained by Tod Sessions and the ecology guide was Chris Callahan. Both were experts in their... More

Very friendly personnel. The boat hostesses brought coffee and hot water for hot chocolate. Blankets provided in the event you get cold. Saw LOTS of whales--up close. We went on the 1:00 departure, returning @ 4:00.

I took my 79 yrs young mother whale watching with Pirate's Cove. Digby has extreme changing tides and when we arrived to catch the boat, the walk way was about at a 45 degree angle down. One of the guides ran up to meet us and talk my mother through the best way to descend. She was gracious and even... More

It was a foggy day on the water, but that didn't keep us from finding four humpback whales. The captain and his crew member (Janet) were excellent, working hard to locate the whales and guide in the boat for great views. We stayed out on the water for several prolonged sightings. Blankets and hot drinks were provided, plus some fun... More

This was an excellent boat trip. Todd and Lisa were great hosts and they looked hard for the whales and provided great sightlines so we could view the whales for as long as possible. They provided hot drinks, rain slickers, and seemed excited bout their jobs. The boat was clean and comfortable and we got to see some seals on... More

We thoroughly enjoyed our whale watching and bird viewing tour. The hosts were very knowledgeable and informative. The captain located the whales and guided the boat for the best view. His skill was amazing! They provided everything we needed; hot drinks, rain slickers for the sea spray, blankets for those who might have been chill. Excellent service and great boat.... More

We had a wonderful day with the excellent operators of the Pirate's Cove Cruises. We will go on another trip when other friends and relatives visit. They provided coffee, tea, and hot chocolate. The boat is large enough to be safe and stable in the water yet small enough for the staff to talk to each of us. It was... More

The boat was full. Hosts were very knowledgeable of all local species. Saw lots of humpbacks and a few sea birds and seals. Crew had free coffee/hot chocolate and gave blankets if you got cold. Just a very "down home" feeling. Amazing time!!!

We happened to go on a beautiful sunny Sunday (aug25/13). Very calm waters and not a cloud in the sky. So pleased with how lucky we made out- didn't even have to put my jacket on- just wore my t-shirt! On this day the whale sighting count was 21 they told us, with about 12-14 being close up views. All... More

Just went whale watching again on Aug. 7, 2013 and as always had a great time and this time we saw 7 whales. There were 5 humpback whales and 2 fin whales. Two of the humpback whales were about 10 feet from the boat and one of them stuck their face out of the water and looked and watched us... More
