We came to Pembrokeshire specifically for this visit, but because of high winds the boat to the island didn't run on any of the days we were booked to stay. So we extended our stay by a night: so glad we did. Skomer is a wonderful 'back-to-nature' experience, and allows you to get close to the wildlife without disturbing the... More

We went mid July wanting to see Puffins and now I have seen thousands. We did the cruise as I did not think the kids would last the distance all day on the island. You have to get in early to book the cruise but even earlier to book the day trips to the island. Well worth it though. The... More

We took the 'Puffins and Seabird' Skomer Island trip with 100 Island Expeditions in the afternoon as our original morning 'Whale and Dolphin' trip had been cancelled due to atrocious weather. Cindy in the main office was very helpful and got us booked on this one. You leave from St Justinians Lifeboat Station where you are greeted and guided by... More

We visited skomer island whilst staying in Haverfordwest, we had driven out to the car park (Martins Haven - National trust car park) where we found the staff to be very friendly and informative who explained everything we needed to know for our planned trip. We arrived approximately 08:15 hrs and wandered down to the booking office, again the staff... More

If you like to wild birds in their environment then this is the place to go, When I went there in July 2015 I was able to see Puffins, Razorbills and others. there is a 15 min boat trip to reach the island and you could get a bit wet due to the swell. there 87 steps to climb to... More

If you a keen on wildlife, in particular sea birds and especially puffins then this is the place to be! I've never seen puffins before and as a keen photographer, I was really keen to see them. Fortunately we picked a beautiful day to visit and had a really enjoyable time. The introduction to the island by the ranger was... More

Five stars doesn't do skomer justice - it is literally one of the best places I have ever been! On the boat journey across we saw gannets, porpoise, seals, razorbills, guillemots and puffins! And the boat journey is only about 15 minutes! I stayed on this island in May as my 21st birthday present as I'm a little obsessed with... More

What a tremendous day, we arrived at the ticket office at 7.50 am and were in a queue of about 40 people. We were informed at 8 that the boats were running YAY. WE WERE NUMBER 47 and 48 on the 10 am boat (only 50 per boat) when we arrived the park ranger gave us an informative talk and... More

BRILLIANT!!!!!!!!! DO try to stay overnight as you will get so much more than you can imagine from a day visit. You are also guaranteed to get a passage on the ferry, which can be a challenge in the peak times. PUFFINS galore, especially where you arrive in North Haven, where they swirl overhead like flocks of starlings, and at... More

An amazing treasure of a place to visit. Get their earlier i.e. before 8am in peak times if you want to get on the island. The early start is well worth it you want to be feet away from puffins and try and get the classic sand eel photo. Facilities are limited on the island so pack well, food /... More
