Out for the 2 hr Pilot whale and dolphin watching trip. We had the boat to ourselves for a little extra (to cover the owners costs) and Nico our guide was superb. He gets close to the mammals whilst always carefully and slowly manoeuvring the boat to avoid spooking them. Very knowledgeable and engaging. Thoroughly enjoyable

Other operators in Los Gigantes guarantee you will see whales OR dolphins. So they head straight to where the dolphins gather which is closer to shore and don't bother heading further out seeking whales - you will pass such operations boats as you speed away from shore seeking whales. Ocean Explorer will give you a refund, not a credit note,... More

Their money back guarantee suggests you're probably going to see some whales, and we saw two pods of pilot whales and some dolphins, including some younger ones. The boat used is smaller than the other boats offering tours, so it's faster, more agile, and can get right up close to the mammals. Friendly captain and staff, what's not to like.... More

A brilliant experience. we saw Pilot Whales on a great little trip out into the Atlantic. They don't go out in poor weather when you can't see any wildlife, be sick or other!, they don't go out if there are no Whales or Dolphins around. They give you your money back if you don't see any whales or dolphins (well... More

What a great trip - only room for 12 just right. We were supposed to just see dolphins but driver got a call to say whales were about and so we went to see them too. Brilliant.

I found this boat trip on TripAdvisor and I have to agree with all the positive reviews. 15 euros is a bargain for this trip! The young captain took us out to the perfect location to see pilot whales and we were practically within touching distance of them. The captain was knowledgeable and polite and kept us up to speed... Was on holiday in Tenerife last week and was lucky enough to go on a trip to see a pod of pilot whales (mothers and calves) close up. I went out to view them using Ocean Explorer - who can be found on Pier 4 in Los Gigantes harbour. Their boat is much smaller than all the others that go... More

What an amazing experience! Definately go! We saw pilot whales, their babies and dolphins. The whales were brave, they came right next to the boat and one whale was even "sitting" (vertically) in the water and looking at us. Got a lot of good pictures! Very, very satisfied!!!

We had been on other whale watching trips but nothing compared to this. There was only a small group of us and there was none of the stopping for a swim in Masca bay. On our trip we saw whales, dolphins, flying fish and a turtle. Take a hat and sun block because it is not a covered boat so... More

A good boat trip carrying 12 people no opportunity to swim off this excursion but an excellent choice as he was able to get close to the Minky whales even seeing a mum and baby. Trip lasted one and a half hours and cost 15 euros which I felt was well spent
