Best winery visit by far in Alsace. Phillippe is truly charismatic, wine passionate guy and the most importante, love sharing his knowlegde about alsacian wines, lecturing and drinking along with visitors, in a spontaneous and joyful way. My wife and me had wonderful and unique experience in this winery. Congrats Phillippe! merci beaucoup.

Visited with a group in early September Philip our host made us most welcome and discussed the vinyards processes beliefs and values . We went on to taste some 16 withs all with detailed knowledge of where thet were grown and how they were made. This was a great morning of enjoyment and learning a great amount about how soil... After reading a recommendation from a magazine, we visited this tranquil little town mainly for Paul Blanck and we were not disappointed. The host was very friendly and guided us through many of their wines. Even we confirmed our purchase, he still offered us some very nice late harvest wines. We bought their Furstentum Riesling and Gewurztraminer Grand Crus and... More

This was really the best wine cellar we visited in the region. Just across from our hotel, we decided to try last as the last winery for the day and I am so glad we did! The entry is cute with beautifully carved wine barrels inside. Some wineries seem annoyed when you ask for tasting, but here they welcomed us... More

Philippe Blanck gave us an extraordinary amount of his time: explaining the history of the region, the terroir, the grapes, the various directions and experiments this prestige house has made over the years. He has thought long and hard about the process of tasting and thoroughly enjoys imparting his ideas on the subject. After 14 offerings, even the spitting cup... More

Having read a review from a wine critic we stopped here. We were guided through the various wines, given plenty of advice in a friendly manner. The prices ranged from 6 euros upwards.

I visited Domaine Paul Blanck in March 2012 and had a lovely visit. The wine is excellent! In fact, the Pinot Blanc was listed as the top white wine value in an early 2012 Wine Spectator magazine. The Domaine's wines have received many accolades, and you can find them in many U.S. states.

These guys make great wine but are always striving to maximise the quality to higher levels. Their wines are not the cheapest but are excellent and in the cases of the Rieslings and Gewurztraminers, the wines benefit from a few years of ageing.
