The woodland borders a ghyll with a babbling brook. Paths are through the ghyll, or along the tops. At one end is a miniature railway, kids love it. At the other end the woods open up onto a huge meadow which you can walk through. Lovely for an morning or afternoon stroll. Lots of squirrels to be seen. My favourite... More

Lovely walks through the woods, plenty of car parking, take the dogs or picnic. On the shipley to Bradford bus routes stops. Lovely and quiet listen to birds singing smell nature .

These woods are close to my home and very convenient to visit. Great for the dogs, but keep them under control as the amount of wildlife is significant. Includes squirrels, many type of birds, voles, mice, hedgehogs, rabbits, if your lucky foxes and deer. Great foliage for the kids to identify and many animal tracks if your into that. Parking... You wouldn't know it was there, but well worth a visit it's a lovely short walk up through the wood & if your lucky the mini steam train might be operating.

Used to live right next to Northcliffe Woods. Close to a golf course, it has towering sides and boulders left over from the last ice age. In summer, a little miniature railway is run by volunteers, which the kids loved when small. A bit of a dog walkers' paradise, though.

The entrance is clean and inviting and there's much to do for families: tennis courts, bowling greens, swings and a slide etc. the allotments were busy and well maintained and beyond all of this is a lovely walk up a slight hill but with great views across the Aire Valley. At the end, near the golf club, is a flight... More

Northcliffe Woods is a beautiful walk whatever the season. Ancient trees, a tiny stream, even a model railway makes for an interesting and varied stroll. Particularly beautiful in the Spring, carpets of bluebells provide a wonderful perfume and a haze of periwinkle blue. In summer meadow is left unmown apart from narrow pathways through the wildflowers and many grasses. The... More

This well established park on some old quarries gifted to the people of Shipley in the 1920's has a little something for everything. Starting at the bottom it has tennis courts for a tiny fee, a bowling green, one new playground, an older playground at the top of the hill, numerous playing fields complete with nets etc, allotments, wild meadows,... Northcliffe park itself is on the outskirts of Bradford. Its huge, open and extremely peaceful. Its a great place to go for a walk and see the beautifully kept flower beds and grass. There's a children's play area and bowing green. You can walk for miles and forget that you are in the middle of a big town. Its extremely... More
