We enjoyed our tour of this castle. We were able to take our dog, so that was awesome and we were able to buy tickets here for both the Marqueyssac gardens as well as the chateau. For weapons admirers there is plenty to see.

My husband loved this. It's very interactive and even does a demonstration of a catapult. The demonstrations and displays are heavy on weaponry though, so you won't be learning much about daily life or history in general. Kinda specialized. Great area.

The private collection shows all types of brutal, almost barbaric, forms of weapons used during its turbulent history. We spent the day at Chateau de Castelnaud (after having a picnic lunch by the river), then we slowly hiked up to the castle...

Very nice chateau with lots of history. Interesting for all ages.
You should also walk in the village and also to the view point where a cross is.
