Have a nice view of the fishermen village Enjoy the experience of living in a far wild place Try some of their food, and kind welcome, before you adventure to the wild dunes villages. Be aware, people on there already very smart to explore tourists .... hehehe

The effort to climb the light house is worth the superb view! The village of Mandacaru is typical Northern Brazilian village.

Get here by boat, there is the feeling of a run down village, a few artisan shops on the walk to the light house. At the dock there is a make shift Caipirinha bar selling garlic shrimp and fruit caipirinhas. The walk to the light house is easy, the steps up to the top of the light house are fine,... More

In the coastal fishing village of Mandacaru stands a beautiful if somewhat weather worn lighthouse. It is open to the public, so naturally everybody who comes ashore climbs the spiral staircase to the observation deck below the lantern room for a great 360 of the surrounding countryside. This structure was built in 1940 and although the counterweight machinery that used... More

We visited the light house as part of a river tour. I think it was nice to visit the light house but it wasn't anything special really. The view from the top was nice.

We loved visiting the Lighthouse. The town was quaint and the people very friendly. The view from the top was so nice you could see the whole village. It wasn't very big but the town seems quite proud of their lighthouse.

Yes, the lighthouse has LOTS of stairs, but the view is spectacular! The walk to the lighthouse is through a simple Brazilian village which is virtually unspoiled. The young "tour guides" met us at the boat dock and were ready to recite a poem or song or some tidbit about the lighthouse (for a tip, of course). Simply charming!

It was really worth visiting the Lighthouse and going up the stairs for a fantastic view towards Cabure. Local children offered us to be a 'guide', offering us information about the village. We accepted this and the boy really had an interesting story to tell. In addition he recited a poem for us and sang a song. Very cute. It's... More
