A great place to eat some fresh fish or lobster with an amazing ocean view of crystal blue water. The food isn't "cheap" but isn't expensive. You can also get a massage on the beach and rent surfboards, paddleboards or boogie boards. The waves aren't super surfable but it all depends on the swell.

A wonderful looong beach. You will need a car to get there. You van have a simple lunch on the beach (grilled chicken, fish or lobster) at a very affordable price. Take care, the waves can be wild!!!

me and my husband visited this beach with the fear of it being a bit rough waters because of what we herd about his place. Well was the opposite, we had a great lunch that was brought to us and the water was smooth and clean. The locals where very helpful and friendly ! Definitely going back again.

Playa Grande is the most beautiful beach I have ever visited. The beach was large and clean. The views were amazing. We had an excellent and affordable seafood lunch right on the beach, with good service. Although many people report that the waves here are high, the ocean actually was very gentile on the day we visited. To top it... More

This beach’s location is perfect if you want to get a taste of the locals and be away from the tourist tumult. Playa Grande offers you the perfect day on the beach, but please be aware that you won’t have the restaurants and bar that you find at the touristic beaches.

Playa Grande is a great beach with a fantastic view. Crystal clear water. Very good food, and service is great. When you go there look for Paulino's caseta (establishment).

Just amazing!!! Gorgeous light sand beach! So layed back and peaceful. You have a variety of fresh seafood options. Nothing like having lunch in front of the caribbean ocean. You just have to GO! The natural beauties of our Dominican Republic!

We came for a wedding in March 2014. had been to the DR in 2008 and stayed at a resort. This time in Cabrera was much more of an off the grid experience- which means a little more piecemeal experience but it was still good. Be careful of the taxis . You are better using a large group and booking... More

Loved this gorgeous light sand beach! I didn't visit it before it was made smaller, but we enjoyed it just the same. Took a long walk, enjoyed the rough surf, watched surfers. Food is sold on the beach. The great thing is we were not swarmed by salespeople, unlike on the beaches in Cabarete. Loved it and would go back... More

Been there on an early February Monday, so we've been almost alone. Some 10 cars and a small bus in the parking lot. Nice warm and beautiful blue water, much better than Cabarete bay. Huge waves in the middle, a bit smaller at the right/entrance side. Best experience is having lunch on the beach. A guy comes, brings a plastic... More
