China is great with view but this National Park boast even greater view with high land and low land. You may ride the bus which go fast and prepare yourself not to throw up but it saves time to see all major things here. If you have extra time, try to take a walk here but it may cost your... More

This was an overnight excursion from Dali...a large part of the centre burned down but is being restored. Enough remains to provide a sense of how life used to be here. There is a wonderful pagoda in the centre, and a beautiful monastery on the outskirts. Unfortunately you can also see the encroaching influence of Beijing in the new buildings,... More

Arriving the entrance you have to take a bus as usual in 5 star national parks. The bus is filled with 20 loud people and the parks tour guide also speaks the entire drive up (30 minutes) her story. The bus ride up to the first stop is spectacular. You arrive a place with 5 old houses (under construction now)... More

If you are from a Western country, you probably won't find Pudacuo National park where appealing, especially outside of the June - October time frame. But this park was just as beautiful in April and you get a variation in scenery from snow mountains to the canyon.

The bus ride up the mountain allows us to enjoy breathtaking scenery of the national park. The winding road leaves behind fascinating view when you look back. The views of mountains with sea of clouds, canyon and deep gorges are stunning.

Located in the center of the Three parallel Rivers Nature reserve, this park offers stunning views of the river, steep mountains and deep gorges. Nice for a visit. Tickets for the bus ride is expensive and can be touristy.

Well just like any national park, this place was actually well maintained. They had nice deck paths to walk on, no traffic because they only allowed their buses to transport you into the park. Got a chance to see someone making a music video which was nice since they were in their traditional attire. Got pretty sick from the altitude... More

The landscape is so unreal. You begin to see the river, calm, peaceful and reasonably wide when approaching the canyon. Once you make a turn, you will see the landscape changes within a few hundred meters. A drop of several hundred meters on your right hand side where the river starts to roar. The fiord on both sides of the... More

Please note: This location is also known as Shangri-La Grand Canyon National Park (香格里拉大峡谷国家公园) and Balagezong (巴拉格宗). Neither our hotel or the several taxi drivers we asked were able to identify "Shangri-La Canyon" (or its direct translation in Chinese) on its own. As for the location itself - both the park (and the drive to it from Shangri-La) presented absolutely... More
