saw plenty of animals during daytime

It's great that you have a choice to take a tram with the guide (most of them deliver information in Bahasa but we overheard one English speaking) or just walk around on your own.

The zoo is incredibly cheap to visit and has a good range of animals to be seen up close. There are many renovation works and improvements in progress, which is good to see as some of the animal enclosures need some work, but overall, with the space and funds considered, it is as good as can be expected. The route... More

This was a quick night tour of the Zoo and we travelled around by free tractor train with the ability to hop off and on throughout the journey. It was however too dark I felt to walk the uneven roads and footpaths. The ability to see the animals at night was a great experience with lions, tigers elephants, rhinos, deer,... More

This is a very nice zoo and the night safari concept was the first in malaysia. However sad to said that the zoo needs major clean up and not further built up. there is no point building state of the art building but not maintaining it.

My kids and I loved this zoo so much we paid twice for the ticket -- once to visit at night, and the other, in the day. Well-landscaped like a park, shady and has interesting animals -- the tigers, lions, the gaur were our favourites to see. There's a free train service to take you around the zoo and this... More

Our entourage consists of me, hubby and 4 kids aged 9 years to 16months. Entrance fee is RM16 for adults and RM8 for children above 3. Initially thought it was a tad expensive but looking at the well maintained grounds, it was justified. We took the tram at the entrance to have an overview of the zoo, which is about... More

Taiping is a Town of Rain, it rains almost every hour. My night safari trip is almost done in the dark and rains, but! It was definitely fun. Animals are more lively in the night, you can clearly hear their sound came out from somewhere and it makes you feels like you are in an adventurous jungle trip. An alligator... More

Car park fee is RM3 per entry; ticketing machine wasn't working, hence to exit we had to go through the entrance lane. The tram needs maintenance. The service needs improvement. Couldn't hear clearly what the guide was saying. He used Malay language and I don't think the Korean tourists understood. Should consider using English if he saw foreigners in the... More

The animals looked healthy and well fed. Lots of space for the animals. Children can enjoy walking and take their time to observe the animals. The tram is there for those who prefer not to walk. The zoo has lots of trees so its quite shady.

the zoo is so much bigger now. it is a good place for a walk as there are so many shady trees. the tram ride is a good way to explore the zoo. you can get down at any stop but it is best to take a full circle then walk to the places you want to see again. there... More
