After disappointed with Zoo negara, I visited this place yesterday (Night Safari). Such a wonderful place. Got all animals. Well maintained animals. The fee is very cheap.

My family and I arrived around 11am. We could hear gibbons calling out to one another and swinging from tree to tree. Some information boards were placed in the wrong spot and sort of have to walk to another area to know what animal you were looking at. In one section they had the wrong animal behind the fence (or... More

Taiping Zoo is the first & oldest Zoo in malaysia. We paid the entrance fees of Rm12 each , as we have a senior with us who cannot walk too much, we took the mini bus that drove us around the whole vicinity to view all the caged animals. Its the only zoo in North Malaysia & being the holiday... More

Two or three years ago Taiping zoo was quite run down and many of the enclosures were in need of renovation and the whole area had an overall impression of neglect. This may have been partly due to the fact that the entrance fee was a nominal amount and thus there was very little money to spend on maintenance and... More

Cost me as senior less than $4 Australian to enter. Value for money. Go early in morning to hear screaming ibbons. The restaurant is also very good. The souvenir shop has some different interesting cheap stuff. I buy their fridge magnet animals. Even though I have spent more than 2 months Taiping I have not gone on night safari yet... More

A decent zoo with a variety of animals but its poorly maintained possibly as it is struggling to sustain itself. Still worth a visit when you are in taiping

Firstly, please bring a mosquito repellent as we were bitten by mosquitoes breding inside the area. The zoo is nothing special -- many animals were not visible and sleeping. However we had the chance to get really upclose and personal with a crocodile, the giraffe and ostrich. Other than that, it was more of a jogging and walk in the... More

The night safari was actually surprisingly pleasant after reading some mixed reviews. We set out from Penang (Tanjung Bungah) at about 5:30pm on a Monday and got to Taiping about 8:10pm. I wasn't driving as fast or crazy as some of the commuters, so I am sure we could've made it there with a shorter time. Upon arriving at the... More

Not bigger than Zoo Negara (National zoo in Kuala-Lumpur) interesting, but lack of cafes and foods... beverages are at the doubled price. diversity of animals is ok, not rich fauna beautiful flora however it worth to spend your half day in there
