This trip will save you some time getting to picturesque Manitoulin, but more importantly it will save you many hours on the busy highways. You can't compare a day of driving to a day relaxing on a ferry.

We were traveling to Manitoulin Island for a trip. The view i excellent if the weather is OK.Food on the boat not spectacular but expensive.A lot of people who are using RV's and camping equipment, own food and drinks.Did not know why.We realize after we payed a LOT for a breakfast,2 eggs with bacon. The room was bad but again expensive;105$ a night.It... We have talked about taking this ferry for many years . I wish we had done it sooner . What a fun alternative to the drive around the lake . We did not know w had to leave our vehicle, so got scolded for just chilling in our truck . We went upstairs, browsed the gift shop, and bought a... More

We have been travelling up to Manitoulin island for the last 34 years and the Chi-Cheemaun is the only wasy to go. Cuts the time in the car by half and provides a great time to see the islands while basking in the sun. They take real nice care of the ferry and the sunset cruise time is a bonus.... More

Riding the ferry was interesting. I'm glad we quickly found a table in the cafeteria area since it seemed to get very full half way through the trip. It was misty and foggy so people eventually came down for the coffee and cafeteria food. We played cards and ate snacks and were pretty comfortable. We definitely needed sweaters that day.

We took Ferry from Tobermory to Manitoulin Island. Cars loaded and unloaded quickly at a reasonable rate. Ride was very smooth (nice day). Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Early summer is mosquito time in Canada & until ferry moves away from land there will be mosquitos on outside deck so bring insect repellent if you wish to be outside... More

I drive to Toronto from Northern Ontario several times a year and decided to take the ferry this time. Don't know why I never did it before. They where very prompt and efficient. The crew were friendly, the food was good and the scenery was incredible. I highly recommend the ferry to anyone travelling through Ontario.

We enjoyed both the sunset and an awesome dinner as well as chatting with other couples during the cruise. The weather was just right for smooth sailing

The ride is just over an hour long. Inside and outside decks have a great visibility over Lake Huron and the islands. Poor weather kept us inside on very comfortable chairs. Tried the kitchen for breakfast and a quick bite for late afternoon. Not memorable but interesting to see they even have dinner cruises with concerts

My family owned land in Tobermory and I spend my summers there into my twenties. I loved this experience of the MS Chi-Cheemaun. I remember when they had the contest to name the boat and enjoyed riding it several times throughout the summer. Taking in the beauty of the land and see before walking around Manitoulin Island is something I... More
