I am personally not devout to any form of religion. My visit to the Hill of Crosses was to admire the miraculous scene, which is selected as an UNESCO cultural heritage. Wandering through the countless crosses, I got lost. I was swallowed up by the unbelievable power of faith. They're from everywhere--- Europe, America and even Far East Asia, ex.... More

I've never been anywhere quite like this and have certainly never seen so many crosses in the same place. Fascinating just to wander around and take in the scale of it, photos just don't do it any justice. Even if you're not religious it's worth a visit. I went from Vilnius as a daytrip and found it quite tricky. I... More

Approaching the Hill of Crosses left us breathless. It can be difficult to find so turn on your GPS. When you walk up to the hill, the site of all the crosses leaves you speechless, even if you're not religious. If you know the history of this place, you can appreciate the Lithuanian fortitude to overcome the heavy hand of... More

Religious, agnostic or non-believer, one cannot help but be overcome by a sense of spirit here. Coming here at the end of a long day if sight-seeing, we roamed the hill in the rain, marvelling at the sheer number of crosses here. When the rain cleared a rainbow appeared, making for some stunning photographs. As the days light faded (quite... More

The Hill of Crosses was fairly easy to find thanks to the directions from the website. The hill is basically crosses piled quite neatly on top of each other but it provides a magnificent and unique sight due to the amount of crosses that is just overwhelming. The variety of crosses on this hill is also amazing. You can find... More

Countless crosses of all sizes, designs, and ages fill this hill and its lower edges. Certainly each cross has a story. One might ask, were some left here just because "it was the thing to do"? On the other extreme, was a cross brought in a pilgrimage of faith or as a memorial to a lost love one? This place... More

Thousands of crosses planted together on a hill in the middle of the countryside. For the religious this will be an inspiring place. For others this will be an interesting stop; for these people perhaps not worth a 5-hour drive, but if within an hour or two's journey then definitely worth a look. Restaurant tip, just before the car park... More
