It is really an amazing place and when walking around you can feel that much has happened on that spot. The sound of the crosses moving by the wind... it did move me as well!

In a really quiet surrounding you see a hill full of crosses. Thousands have come here, prayed to the almighty and left a cross. I am not a Christian but was really moved to see this place.

Thousands of crosses representing thousands of prayers. You have to see it to understand. Bring a cross, leave a cross, say a prayer, try not to shed a tear. Wow! Glad we went.

Having seen many pictures I totally underestimated the scale of this....work of art? I find it kind of creepy yet magnificent. It gets even more creepy that there is a religious radio station playing in between some of the crosses. Makes for food pictures especially if there is snow.

Really atmospheric location - find out and understand the story - what made so many people defy authority and place crosses here. Great visit.

A truly unique tribute to a determined citizenship who would not be destroyed by oppression. After some miles of travel into the rolling green pastures of the Lithuanian countryside you will come upon this sacred place that represents the determination of a people to survive and thrive. I'm told it began with a cross placed and a cross removed by... More

Definitely worth spending an hour or two here if you are interested in places of religious affiliation, or just different places in general. It is an incredible to see and walk around among all the crosses. Do not try to count, you will soon realize that it is impossible. They are everywhere. Hundreds of thousands. Big, small, home-made, hand-painted, etc.

This is a small mound-not really a hill- totally covered in over 100,000 crosses of varying sizes. This is where the last of the Swedish farmers laid their final crosses, amnd it became a tradition for both locals and visitors to lay crosses here. You can buy intricate or simple crosses at the stalls nearby. We have never seen any... More
