Rain or shine, this place is beautiful and breathtaking beyond measure. Take a cruise and you'll immerse yourself for a good one and a half hours in some of the best vistas this side of the world has to offer. On my journey I experienced sunshine, snow, and rain, all in the one trip!

Initially, Milford sound was not on our itinerary. However, we had been in New Zealand for eight straight days without rain and then Milford became a viable option. We stayed overnight in the town of Te Anau. The drive from Te Anau to Milford Sound can justifiably be described as spectacular (unlike so many other over-hyped attractions in New Zealand).... More

Amazing landscape, great cruise with southern discoveries, lucky not too many people on the boat today. The drive is quite long from Queenstown, but the last hour or so is stunning.

It is years since we visited Milford Sound. Oh why did we take so long to go back? This is truly one of the wonders of the world. During the week we visited, Fiordland and much of the South Island had had truck loads of snow. Thus, we drove (on a bus journey) up through alpine scenery of jaw dropping... More

We traveled to Milford Sound in a bus and if you don't have a hire car then ok take the bus but if you have a hire car do it by yourself. the bus trip killed me! Mainly from people who are stupid and ignorant. Nothing worse than seeing people smoking at the back of the bus every time you... More

You have to see this place while you are in NZ. Just breathtaking!! Well worth the trip to see this beautiful place. Set amongst the lush rain forests. Make sure you take the boat ride out into the fiords to really enjoy Milford Sound. Beautiful experience!!

Pay hundreds of extra dollars to go to Milford Sound, or book with Jucy Cruize. I saved $350 with Jucy. The difference between Jucy and the other companies is that you have to pack your own picnic food for the bus (5 hours out with photo stops; 4 hours back). I went into their town office late in the afternoon... More

I was on a cruise on Voyager of the Seas, during a fairly cold and wet journey into Milford Sound. The rain during and for days before we undertook the excursion was, as it turned out, a mixed blessing, because waterfalls were cascading down the walls of this fjord for its whole length. It's a truly beautiful place, even more... More

Sailing into the Milford sound on a cruise liner must be seen to be believed. The 90,000 tonne Radiance of the Seas slowly whistled down the sound with the most amazing scenery including water falls, natural landscapes, rolling mountains and an airy feel of seclusion....the best

My wife and I went on this excursion as we had read so much about the scenery in Milford Sound. Mitre Peaks bus picked us up on time and delivered us to the big bus ready for the two hour trip from Te Anau. Unfortunately for us the weather was against us (hence to score of three) I am just... More
