We were fortunate enough to visit all 3 Sounds on a cruise ship and I wouldnt want to do it any other way. Sitting enjoying breakfast and lunch in luxury while gasping at Dusky, Doubtful and Milford Sounds was breath taking. It was a cloudy day but clear so we could see all the mountains, valleys, waterfall after waterfall but... More

We travelled from Queenstown took about 4hrs there and 4 hrs back for a 2 hour cruise. Nothing special to be honest. It was nice don't get me wrong but unless you do it DIY a day trip from QT like we did seems to drag! I thought the sail was nothing special, nice land scape just not worth the... More

Fiordland is the largest National Park in New Zealand and is part of Te Wahipounamu – South West New Zealand Heritage area. You can access much of the Fiords by way of backpacking tracking – in other words walking. (Although there is a road to Milford Sound.) Most walking tracks were opened up by Quintin Mackinnon and Donald Sutherland in... More

We had heared a lot about the incredible Milford sounds and the many waterfalls. Unfortunately we visited the area after a quite dry time. Therefore we were of course a little deceived by the cruise. But even without the waterfalls the area is worth visiting. It's unique beauty is a thing to remember. Although watch out for the sandflies! They... More

Just had an amazing visit to Milford Sound and the Fiordland National Park. We got very lucky with the weather and were able to see everything up close, 2 days before Christmas and it felt like you could go ashore and walk up to the Glacier and touch it. Very Majestic. The waterfalls were flowing freely and amazing to watch,... More

This is something you must go and see - we did a kayak through the sounds but there also numerous boat companies that do cruises around the area too. The drive into the sounds is stunning too - we went in December so it did rain quite often but the up side was that we saw stunning waterfalls al down... More

A truly pretty place to visit, especially if seen from the many boat cruises which ply the Sound every day. Mitre Peak is the largest mountain overlooking this area and surrounded by many other scenic attractions, makes this a photographer's dream. Beautiful blue water and waterfalls around the sides, is a delight. You usually see seals and sometimes dolphins escort... More

We chose to go with Cruise Milford as they were a smaller boat, and we are so glad we did!! The whole time was more intimate and the guys made sure we were all looked after and told about all the attractions in great detail. we certainly felt that they were out to please us all and not just to... It ist truly amazingly beautiful. We were lucky to have a sunny day with blue sky too. It looks like on the pictures, but when standing there it's even more spectacular.

Rain or shine, this place is beautiful and breathtaking beyond measure. Take a cruise and you'll immerse yourself for a good one and a half hours in some of the best vistas this side of the world has to offer. On my journey I experienced sunshine, snow, and rain, all in the one trip!
