I would recommend taking a tour with an agency that has vans to their customers. You can also take the bus leaving from the city bus station (Rodoviaria). Make sure you keep the bus schedule and be patient. Bus punctuality in Brazil is not the best. Expect a 15 - 30 min. delay. Engenhoca is wonderful. After you take off... More

It has a small bar where they serve coconut water. A down mountain Riozinho that hot water is clear despite the reddish color due to the iron minerals. Has high rocks in the end where you can take beautiful pictures but do not take bath in these locations. Bathe only on the beach. In all the beaches we visited the... More

This beach was basically designed for surfing. Given the amount of waves it receives and the force at which they approach, not necessarily great for swimming. However, as a beginner surfer it provided the perfect classroom for a full day of learning to ride the waves due to the protected nature at least on one side. Not much infrastructure which... More

There are a lot of groups that start the day going to Praia da Engenhoca before heading down to other beaches. So if you manage to get there after lunch it is very likely you'll have the beach to yourself. Not much structure there though, so better to take water and some food with you.

For me for sure the best beach to surf. Im still learning to surf and I got my first waves on this beach. Its also a really beautiful scenery. Love how the rainforest meets the beach. You have to walk about 30 min before you arrive on the beach but it's all worth it! There is a small cabine that... More

The most beautiful around Itacaré. You can eat very cheap tapioca, only 15 minutes by walk in the forest. There is very few people there, you feel like it's your private beach. Good waves for surf beginners. Nice beach for kids with a river. 15 minutes from Itacaré by car. Our favorite beach there

This beach is beautiful and secluded, it was our favourite close to Itacare. The beach is safe and has great long waves that seem to roll on forever, it reminded us of waves in Waikiki, Hawaii. The walk is easy to get there and takes about 20 mins from the drop off point, we felt like we were on the... More
