We visited this house on our way home after a weekend away. This was a choice because it was a very wet day. The staff were friendly at the admission desk. However, I feel more visitors would come if there were concessions on tickets. I understand a large estate is expensive to run ,but it is limiting the audience through... More

We are regular visitors and always have a wonderful time. The gardens in particular are delightful. Very expensive though. Thirty pounds for three adults followed by nearly the same again for lunch.

I went today with my 7 year old daughter and 4 year old son. Both children were free and as I brought a Tesco days out token my entrance was £2.50. The children did a letter boxing trail in the gardens which was only 50p each and was great fun. The gardens are stunningly beautiful and not too big. The... More

A beautiful place to visit, I decided to get a yearly pass as it was reasonably priced and visit a few times a year. Each time there is something different to see in the gardens, the sweet peas were glorious in July.Plenty of seats around the grounds which give a peaceful, relaxing time. An interesting house to look around, not... More

Garden with plenty of interest in August (we have previously visited in early May and found it very good at that time of year also). The walled garden and long borders were favourite parts. There was also the bonus of a wedding party during our visit, so the owners switched on the 40m high (?) pumped fountain an extra time... More

We had a lovely day out here, the gardens were stunning and there was a good trail around the garden for our youngest to enjoy. The fountain was wonderful and we enjoyed the tour around the house. The tea room was excellent with tables outside but the wasps were slightly off putting. It is really good value for money and... More

We went to see the gardens here having been told of their splendours and they are varied and lovely. An added attraction is the fountain that three times a day shoots up over 100ft into the air ( check out the way the wind is blowing when chosing where to stand and watch to avoid a soaking) Lots of places... Our visit tends to coincide with the Summer Fair and Classic Car show. - We exhibit our car and enjoy the Fair itself - The event is well worth a visit as a great day out with Cars, Dog Shows, Craft Stalls, Food Stalls, Music, and much more. It has become a "must do" venue for us and our friends.... More

The gardens are pleasant but weren't as good as we had been expecting. The fountain was impressive, the house had some interesting features but included more history about the family that own it rather than the origins of the abbey. The house also opens two hours after the gardens so we had to wait to go in. Overpriced and disappointing,... More
