The Brean Sands were lovely, proper sand, but we were lucky we were there when the weather was good Would go again to Brean - The area around Pontins where we stayed, although that wasn't good the area around as I say was quite good, many caravan sites, and better places for entertainment around Brean intself

It is definitely worth the 5-10 minute walk to the top of Brean Down for the view alone. The highest point for miles around for just the cost of a parking ticket. Also worth the 20 minute walk down to the 19th century fort; built to defend ourselves from the French. Take a picnic and be rewarded with fantastic views... More

A bit of a climb to the top but once there it's very well worth it and some great pieces of history up there too......not to be missed.

Beware though as if you go up the steps it is hard work, great views and you can walk over the top to the old Victorian battery and then back around the track so you don't have to retrace your route. it is probably around a three to four mile undulating walk in total, however if you use the track... Have enjoyed a wonderful walk on Brean Down today. Views brilliant and so clear. Finished off the morning with a great breakfast at the National Trust Cafe with a walk on the beach. Can't wait to do the walks again.

Brean Down is the headland sticking out into the sea between Burnham Beach and Weston Super Mare. At the bottom on the Burnham side is the National Trust cafe and car park. If you are a NT member the parking is free and if not it is only a small cost. The cafe is great and provides hot and cold... More

Climbed up the steps to then walk to the fort. Beautiful views and a good path to walk on. It is pushchair friendly if a bit bumpy in places, walked back along the gravel path and down the road (carried the pushchair up the steps) which was an easier walk back. Lovely ice cream at the cafe/shop.

Stayed at Warren Farm holiday park in my motorhome, the five mile long gently sloping sandy beach is a child's wonderland ,very shallow for miles out. Parents could relax a little while letti g their children paddle. The down itself is awesome looming out of the landscape like a huge whale. Highly recommended for all the family.you can even park your... More
