What a beautiful place. Enough restaurants and bars to visit a different one every night and we were there for 2 weeks. Make sure to visit la teraza and say hi to Jan. Dutch run bar/restaurant and great atmosphere. Best sangria in Spain and the ribs...... Unbelievable

The 'main street' going through Altea can be a bit busy at times and does not give the best impression of the town, but the beach and the old town just have to be given a visit. The beach is pebbles not sand but this gives a certain charm to it. Lovely to walk along and plenty of cafes/restaurants to... More

We stopped off for some lunch with tea. Best sandwiches we enjoyed in Costa Blanca. The owner is Joe Allen Carson - delightful service

this is a very lovely resort , a real taste of the where old and new Spain meet , the beach is very small but the walk along the front during both day and night is truly something to behold , for those of an adventurous type , a walk up to the chapel at the top of the hill... More

Altea is a lovely place, the beach is beautiful but stoney in part. Lots of nice shops and restaurants. Really good place for a vacation.

The promenade used to be really good, but the ajuntamiento/ town hall went bonkers and put a cycle path right outside the restaurants, which is used by a minority, god help your child if it is struck head height by a cycle. The locals do not like it (we are locals), the restauranteurs hate it with good reason. There are... More

We decided to take a trip out to Altea from Benidorm and took the local no 10 bus which stops at Altea. After walking around to find our bearings we found our journey starting at he promenade, a pleasant walk and a few drinks at local beach side establishments was lovely! Then headed uphill towards what we caught glimpse of... More

Not the best beach. It is stony and featureless. There are a few things for children: climing frame etc. Reasonably clean. Limited disabled facilities and access. Car parking full in Summer.

The beach is disgusting with builders 'sharp' sand deposited by trucks to cover up the boulders laying around. The sand is used as a toilet by all the locally owned 'mascotas'. Thick layers of rotting seaweed add to the dubious delights which are all overshodowed by a delapidated promenade (watch where you walk). A truely sad reflection on what could... More
