Very pretty beachside area

The area around the beach is attractive, the beaches are great! Very good for young families and there are some good Spanish restaurants if you search. A very nice resort!

we had a week in Benidorm and spent several pleasant afternoons in Altea. It has a lovely church and square at the top of the hill. We took a bus from Benidorm central for only 1.5Euro each way. Lovely restaurants a long the sea front.

We rented a flat next to Cap Negret hotel and the beach is like our back garden now. It's unbeliveble how beautiful it is. The clearest water I've ever been to, turquoise colour, smooth white stones witch offers you a wonderful hot stone massage and the best part, not crowded! I had morning when the whole beach was only for... More

Lovely promenade and old town. Worth a visit. However, plenty of steps to climb to appreciate the views from the old town.

We love it been here for 5 weeks much better than Benidorm far to many people Altea is more calm and Peaceful. Smooth stones so you need beach shoes. You can buy them for €88.

Went to the market which the wife loved, in fact we left her to it, had a snack at very nice Spanish cafe then went to the beach for a run about. Unfortunately it is pebbles, not a sunbathing beach but Altea a super place. Didn't spoil the children's fun but couldn't take our shoes off. Not sure if there... More

Most of Altea beach is pebbly, with just a sprinkling of sand - very hard to touch for most of it. That's fine for me as I don't sunbathe and it also means that the area doesn't get the huge numbers of tourists as neighbouring towns. So in fact for me the lack of sand is really a bonus!

Picking stones on the Mediterranean Coast of Altea, a beautiful place to take a long walk, chat in a coffee shop, or drink a glass of wine. Beautiful!!
