it;s so impressive how this island can combine so many aspects of nature , going to the castle you 'll walk by the see you will end at a huge tree with shadow and next to you you'll have pulms and stones , is very nice place to start your day at Kos because nearby there is a square that... More

Lovely to see different cultures the way of life, Saw Hippocrates Tree and so many lovely cats, actually rescued one and brought him home, loved the Markets with the amazing spices, my cooking a lot more adventurous now. The Harbour is beautiful, could sit on a seat and watch harbour for hours.

Kos castle is an odd place. Kos has more artifacts than any other Greek island. So we were told. Trouble is most of them have been consolidated there by many of the invaders and settlers. First the Knights of the crusades and then pretty much everyone else. If you have a great tour guide the place comes alive. But I... More

We went for a day trip in Kos in June. We found the place nice with lots of shops and restaurants but we weren't impressed with the beach. It wasn't sandy and golden.

I was surprised that this castle with an outer and inner side was more than expected. It was a very nice experience to wonder around and I visited it twice with different people and kids so they all liked it as it was worthwhile and impressive. A nice attraction for an hour and a half if you are interested in... More

We wandered the castle grounds in November, cost €3.00, all well worth it. There are lots of odd bits and pieces to see, good views too (watch out on the higher places as there is a drop over the edge to the road beneath), but not exactly a ‘castle’ in the UK meaning. Kastro in Greek means fortification and that’s... More

We cycled here and spent the say, loads to look at and all free. Walk in the park see the ruins and the harbour. The only down thing is the idiot drivers speeding around the harbour, which were probably holiday makers so it's probably not a thing that happens all the time.

Really interesting history behind the castle. You can easily spend a couple hours here looking at the ruins and taking great photos of the structure and sea.

When you look at the castle from the outside it doesn't seem that impressive but once you are inside on the battlements looking down you realise the scale of the site. Unlike the UK they don't bother fencing off drops and dodgy bits and that makes it more exciting (though I was not escorting toddlers!) but it gave the impression... More
