A lovely castle that was very cheap entry. A nice bit of history. It could just do with a bit more information on it.
Mostly ruins, but interesting to see. Not as extensive as the Bodrum castle across the way in Turkey. One look at our grey hair and we were offered a reduced price at entry, until we spoke and it was obvious we were Americans, not Germans (EU).
We were walking around Kos Town and came across this place. The entry fee didn't cost much and I was fascinated by the preserved ruins and the views from the top of the castle!
Castle abound in this area of the world, as they served for protection and signs of wealth. Accordingly, there are many to see. Kos Castle is as grandiose as others, but it is large enough to spur the imagination. If you take the ferry from Turkey, as I did, the Castle is one of the first sights you see upon... More
we went to kos town castle on oct 16th 2013 we paid 4 euros to get in and spent a good 2 hours wandering around the site nice morning browsing around the ruins and taking a lot of photos this is a must see if your going to kos
went on a day trip to kos from bodrum. there is so much historical value here. well worth a visit if history is what you are interested in. recommended to all
If you've been to any significant British Castle you will find this a disappointment, however, it's worth the entrance fee for the views alone!
so much to see in the Town Castle , there was so many remains that have been excavated , you had great views from the top over the Marina so great for those perfect pictures, but be careful no fences to stop you slipping over the edge
brilliant castle been here a couple of times always worth a wander around costs only about 4 euros to get in good value ! plenty to see also great to take a picnic in ! well worth a visit if you're in kos !
Easy to get too from the Blue Lagoon Resort, a ten minute bus ride and it is at the end of the harbour, also a very god price. The views alone are worth it and of course it is steeped in history with plenty of time allowed to explore it.
