Sitting on top of a sand dune feeling the warm breeze enjoying the sunset or seeing the first rays of the rising sun is a unique experience. Enabling you to have this unique experience, Erg Chigaga offers you a number of tent camps. Obviously you need a 4x4 or camel to get here, but once there you'll find comfortably outfitted... More

Crossing ergs, reg and hammada, one's 3 day trek culminates in the trademark sinous waves in the sea of pinkish beige sand. It was great meditation time, so if you need to get away, you literally cannot get much more away that this. i had a fantastic guide who grew up in the desert which made the trip that much... More

Beautifully stunning landscape. For most people once her lifetime experience. I would highly recommend that you take the opportunity to visit this area. Great to sit and watch sunset with a cup of tea or glass of wine.

Absolutely awe-inspiring. You need at least 3 days to get down to M'hamid from Marrakech, hired a tour operator, and return. It is an incredible experience. There are so many stars at night.

Erg Chegaga is a beautiful bit of the Sahara and when being fascinated by the desert, this one will too. Unfortunately getting there is a big pain, therefore losing one star for the amount of time, money and hassle it needs to get there.

It was worth the scary climb to the top! On the way down, you can sand surf too! The endless dunes around you is relaxing. Watch as the sun turns the sands into gold, then take photos that will surely put that windows desktop photo to shame ;)

You drive for hours in a 4x4 and then you end up in what looks like the very end of civilisation. Behind these dunes, an endless sea of unknown, it seems. You're on top of one of the dunes, looking at one of the most beautiful sunset there is. And then a horde of drunken bikers invades the silence. They... More

Beautiful place to visit. The dunes are stunning and easily accessible from the end of the road, the large village of M'hamid. However, we found the atmosphere is M'Hamid rather unsettling and not all that friendly. The competition for business was too aggressive. I definitely suggest staying in Oulad Driss (5km before M'hamid when coming from Zagora): the tiny settlement... More
