Booked a tour through the tour desk at our hotel. Early start at 7am to collect other passengers from their various hotels. About an hour by sea to Macau Island. Warm day but was raining steadily. As some of our tour had taken the wrong ferry we had to wait an hour or so for them to join us. ......... More

We bought are ferry tickets from one of the travel agencies around the corner from the escalator because the 10:30 am ferry was sold out at the travel agency at the top of the escalator. No problems with those tickets or the return tickets. Comfortable 1 hour ride to Macau. Immigration is a breeze. We were approached by someone wanting... More

Hotels are expensive so unless you are a serious gambler, do the day trip. The jetfoil is great, inexpensive and fast. With the hotel courtesy buses you can get to any of them quite easily. Beware, the last shuttle is just before midnight so you will need taxi after that. Saw a fantastic show at City of Dreams called House... More

We booked this tour through Infinity Holidays before leaving Australia. Pickup from our hotel and guide were good. He arranged ferry tickets and customs declarations for us. Ferry trip was good and we were met by another guide in Macau. We picked the only day in 3 years that Hong Kong had a black rain storm so not the best... More

I went to Macau on last Saturday with my family of 5 via the ferry point at Tsim Sha Tsui. When we reached there, we saw many vendors selling tickets and they all had walkie-talkie with them. After observing the situation, we thought that it was ok to buy ferry tickets from them and they even gave us $10hkd discount... More

The only saving grace in Macau is the old part of it which is Portugese style since they ruled this place till recently. Otherwise Macau is primarily known for big lavish casinos. Me & my wife are not casino enthusiasts and hence found them boring places. However the to & fro from HK is quiet easy as ferries like Turbojet... More

Instead of hopping in a regular taxi, take one of the bike taxis waiting for you at the ferry terminal. You can get two hours for about $30 and the driver will wait for you as you get off to see sights. Plus, the streets are way more interesting pedaling down the highway....and everyone on the buses and street look... More

Macau is a very tourist friendly city. Getting in and out from Hongkong is seamless with frequent ferries. Visited the Venetian, Galaxy and Wynn. Venetian by its sheer size and number of gaming tables and number of gamers is unbelievable. Galaxy is the latest and with two great lobbies. Wyn has its own charm as an upmarket casino. All worth... On a recent trip to Macau, we hired a guide from Man Ka Travel and Tourism for a five hour tour. Our experience yielded "expense and frustration" as the guide/driver refused to take us to places outside the casino zone. After paying top "dollar", and being reassured we could design our tour from our trusty Lonely Planet Guide as our... More

Macau is an easy day trip from Hong Kong or nice for an overnight stay. Catch a ferry from either Kowloon side--Tsim Sha Tsui area China Ferry terminal ( usually crowded and busy with lots of mainland Chinese) or on the Hong Kong Island side go to Sheung Wan mtr station and follow exits for the ferry terminal. It is... More
