I wanted a walk and boy did I get one

A very steep but rewarding walk from Argegno to Pigra..! It took an hour or so of pretty fast paced hiking. The trail is easy to walk, not technical. And the cable car ride down... read more

If you want to get to Pigra without the long car trip up the mountain road, then this is the way to go. As a cable car experience its not that special and the views from the Belverdere (15 minute walk from the top) are Ok but largely ruined by huge electricity pylons. Pigra itsself has little to recommend it.... More

We had a car and used Waze to direct us. Clearly with our intention to drive to Argegno and take the car up the mountain. Instead waze brought us to the top. It was a very challenging twisty curvy drive. Other than taking a few pictures there is nothing to do there at the top. Be warned the Argegno station... More

A very steep but rewarding walk from Argegno to Pigra..! It took an hour or so of pretty fast paced hiking. The trail is easy to walk, not technical. And the cable car ride down was amazing. Bella Vista! Only thing to check is the times of the cable car, I just missed one and had to wait 30mins for... More

It took some persuading to get me in the cable car, but I am so pleased I went! Having already read a review about the swaying experience when passing a pylon, I was more prepared for it! It was a fantastic experience and we were blown away (not literally!) by the medieval village of Pigra. It was quite a cloudy... More

This is the best combo lake can offer with views and quiet walks. Kids were able to play tennis on the top. City walking tour was really well made to follow.

We walked from Argegno to Pigra, and then took the cable car back down to our car. It was a wonderful hike-up. Upon our arrival in Argegno, we were a bit lost. We could not find the route up, and needed to find a bar for bottled water, etc. We bumped into a local who was very helpful. It turned... More

This is a short 5 minute ride to the top from Argegno to Pigra. The lift only holds 12 people and leaves every half hour. It is closed from 11:30 to 2:00 I believe so keep that in mind. It was less than $5 per person for a round trip ticket. The lift is on the north side of Argegno... More

The cable car is quite steep even by cable car standards! The ride was smooth though although I would imagine if the wind got up it could be a little more interesting. Well worth the trip though as the views from the top are amazing and walking round Pigra is like taking a trip back in time. Really enjoyed our... More

If you are in the area, then take the cable car going up. The view is nice, just the electricity wires up there disturb the pics see wanted to take. We aware of the lunch break between 12-2.

As we were unaware that the cable car shut down for lunchtime, we had to wait around. The dxperience was worth the wait, although we became like sardines packed into the car. The lift was very fast going up and the movement over the first pylon caused some breaths to be taken. Worth the trip to then go to the... More
