From various parts of the village, you can admire this hill with its multi-hued colors - peaceful, relaxing and exciting at the same time.

The best view point is located out of the town. Just before entering the town on the way from S S de Jujuy city. Due to the light direction, it would be better to watch in the morning. Only the view point (a little hill) located in the twon requires comission only a few Peso.

Impressive colors!!!!! Purmamarca is some two and half hours driving from Salta. The mountain is really impressive with all the colors you can see!! If possible try to visit it in the morning when sunlight is direct toward the mountain!! If you are a nature lover you can reserve one hour to seat and enjoy the view!!'

We did a road trip over the course of a few days through Tucuman, Salta, and Jujuy, and this was definitely one of the highlights of my trip. I was told before seeing it that it was amazing, but I couldn't have imagined how cool it actually was. The colors are so vibrant and unique, definitely some interesting geology! Hicimos... More

Do the circular walk that starts at one end of the village and ends at the other. It is a gravel road, and pedestrian only. It is spectacular if it is a sunny day.

As others say in their comments, this is a geological wonder. Small presence of flora, but the rocks present so many shades and colors that the trip is really worth doing to visit it. You should walk around the hill and not just view it from one angle.

Just give yourself plenty of time to wander at a leisurely pace, stop and enjoy the sights. It's a "stroll" not a hike and best done as slowly as possible to make the most of it! take lots of water and make sure you wear a hat. The sun really beats down!

it takes about one hour or little longer, do it at the sunset and in the morning, the colours and the light are different and it is worth doing it. It is smooth and very quiet, very nice view of Purmamarca and the surroundings.
