I booked a luxury catamaran Seafari excursion to Cayo Blanco from Varadero (69 CUC per person) hoping for a naturally beautiful, desert island type, destination maybe with some local wildlife. It included a bar-b-que lunch and snorkeling. Whilst I didn't participate in the snorkeling from what I witnessed it appeared to be a complete waste of time with swimmers getting... More

Wow! Very Picturesque. No hotels to mar the beauty, Arrived here by boat cruise. The sand was white and like fine sugar. The water was warm and unbelievably clear. One of the highlights of our trip,

This is your typical manmade beach on a key off Varadero to serve as a day trip destination. Because it is obvious that the beach sand is brought in, the water is not the same colour as you would see in Varadero. There are cute hermit crabs on the beach when you first arrive. This island serves as a day... More

On the non-dolphin excursion (aka 99% adult tour - not particularly child friendly - one dancing activity not suitable for kids and more of a party atmosphere) from Varadero Marina to Cayo Blanco we had a fantastic catamaran crew that got the whole boat rocking and participating in the fun. After a brief snorkel stop (many better snorkelling locations so... More

This was a great sandy beach with a great atmosphere. We stopped here as part of the catamaran trip and had food and drinks on a sandy beach although can tell its man made in some areas.

Katamaran trip from Varadero to Cayo Blanco was a highlight of our stay. Pristine white beach with warm and clear water was simply fantastic. Chilling out under the palm tree with the view of the beach and ocean in front of us was as picturesque as a post card.

I agree with the poorer reviews of this trip. Maybe I have been spoilt by quieter boat trips on other Caribbean islands but basically we spent £184 (no Dolphins gracias) for 4 of us to be taken, in convoy, on overcrowded catamarans, via a rather short snorkelling stop, to a lovely white sanded island that frankly has been spoilt by... This excursion was fantastic ! We swam with dolphins ,went snorkelling and had a buffet lunch on the island . Enjoyed the beautiful water and sand . Boat ride was great with open bar and music , the staff on the Argo boat were very nice ! With our luck we also had Dolphins that swam next to the moving... More

Went on the local sea safari trip as the Cayo Largo trip wasn't recommended for us as it involved very old Russian plane flights. The trip was brilliant, free bar on the boat, helpful and entertaining crew who kept us amused. The boat stopped for a bit of snorkelling on the way and then onto the beach. The advertised one...
