Such a cute area to just wander around and enjoy the scenery. It has a lot of little narrow streets that are full of colors. Plenty of shops and cute cafes. We had gotten post cards and found a cafe to have a drink and fill them out. It really is all about this charming atmosphere. Just wander and you... More

The old Mykonos town area is a wonderful area to spend several hours just walking and taking in all the picturesque sights. There are lovely little narrow streets with beautiful brightly colored doors, staircases and shutters. The are shops, restaurants and bars where one can sit and enjoy people watching. You can't get lost walking around in the area because... More

Mykonos is one of he most popular travel destinations in the Mediterranean, visited by more than a million tourists every year and famous for its shopping. So you could visit Mykonos, browse through the picturesque streets, shop all day long and at the end enjoy a nice wine on one of the many terraces, OR..... Before coming to Mykonos, spend... More

This is such a quaint beautiful and clean shopping area, you can buy anything from local artisan crafts to touristy t-shirts and everything in between. I bought a beautiful hand made beaded shirt, I bought post cards and I also stopped had an expresso and a snack and sat and people watched for a while. It is a fun, safe... More

We spent the afternoon browsing. Lots of shops, most expensive. It was the end of the season so we were encouraged to look around. The area is clean and well maintained. Walkways were mostly stone, footing was good. Found a couple of unusual treasures for keepsakes. The area is pricey when you factor conversion from Euros to US dollars. It... More

this street and the surrounding area of mykonos town has lovely random stone walkways with a good variety of tourist shops cafes and restaurants. designer shops aplenty so there is something for everyone. my wife bought a very unusual necklace with a semi-precious stone at a resonable price.

There are a ton of stores on Matoyianni street but everything is high priced in Euros compared to Canadian dollars. But, you can still splurge and buy a piece of clothing or like me a pair of fancy sandals. For the tourist shops, the souvenirs are not priced that high, so you can pick up smaller items from there.

There are so many shops and colorful streets in Mykonos Town. I agree with one reviewer who recommended buying something you like right away because in the afternoon, I was unable to locate the store that sold an item I had wanted to purchase earlier that day. On the main streets by the water, it is easier to orient yourself... More
