I didn't stay right by the beach, we stayed at the Grand Beach hotel, but we have a clear view to the beach, and it's a very nice beach. But one must be careful walking around the beach, a lot of sharp shells.

This beach is nice because its so close to Mykonos Town (Chora). Its shallow, but does have a rocky bottom so wading can be a little tedious. Beautiful water, and again walking distance from Chora so convenience is great. To get there, you can take the road, OR you can take a small path goes right along the water, you... More

Although it is located close to town, only a five minute walk, it is not the nicest of beaches found on Mykonos. A lot of rocks and it has a distinct smell.

Nothing really going on there and it's pretty rocky. You can do a lot better on an island with so many beaches to choose from.

I loved the fact that this is not an overly busy area but has the beach, hotel and taverna all within easy walking distance, literally only a few meters to each. There is now a small shop for essentials and only a few hundred metres to Mykonos Town. If you like a walk its only about 20 minutes to walk... More

Megali Ammos is not the beach that could proudly represent the beautiful beaches of Mykonos. Don't choose it if you want to go to a beach for swimming, there are far better places to go.

Great for families or singles/couples, because the beach is narrow and the sea is very calm and shallow, plus restaurants are meter's away, so everything is nice and compact, but not too fussy either.

Close to town, clean water, quiet and relaxed atmosphere. It has everything for those who are looking for a relaxed swimming away from the island's craziness. Don't visit it if you are famous, please!
