My boyfriend and I stayed in mykonos mainly to see Delos and it was well worth it. The ruins and the stories behind them were fascinating. Would strongly recommend a guided tour as the ruins don't always speak for themselves. We booked our tour and guide through viator and we weren't disappointed. Our tour guide was a Greek archaeologist who... More

Loved the history and ruins. The tour guide was brilliant and very interesting. Fantastic place. There was also a museum on the island were they have kept the ruins they found amazing place and the history behind the city that once was there. Also there is a small cafe for refreshments which was needed as there is very few places... More

It definately worth to go - quite close to Mykonos and full of history. I also recomend to have a guide but instead of paying 40 euros before leaving Myknos you can pay 10 in the island (in our case there were plenty of them offering their services when we got there). Without a guide can be quite difficult to... More

We thought we could see Delos on our own after going to Pompeii and Ephesus but I'm glad we paid the 40 euros for the tour. The boat to Delos is easy to find in town and it leaves at 10:00. The ride is about 30 minutes. A guide (with sign matching your tour sticker) will be waiting at the... More

The tours offer very good information -- but the groups are very large and very slow -- so important to know what you enjoy. I ended up breaking off of the tour so that I could go at my own pace - particularly because it was so hot and there is no shade. even with a giant hat, the sun... More

We booked this with our Thomson rep. I understand you may be able to get it cheaper, but it was a lot easier to book with them. Once you get out of the boat a guide will meet you and give out the entrance ticket and will explain what the site is all about. It was incredibly hot and sunny... More

Delos is incredible! You can see a whole town in ruins. Some houses are preserved and you can still see some parts of the walls and mosaics floors in it. On the top,of the island you can see the whole city and the beautiful green sea. There is a small museum there, it is included on the entrance price. The... More

In theory very practical to go from the center to the new port. Except boats are not on time, the guys at the selling booth lie through their teeth about schedule, and they cancel boat runs at will. Avoid the chronical liars or take a boat one hour ahead at least. Otherwise, probably stranded.

this is the only way to appreciate this site which can be otherwise a bunch of stones. It is so much nicer to have explanations ( our guide was an archeologist). The groups seem to be bigger than in the past so the guide does not do the museum with the group anymore. We did it by ourselves and it... More
