Just 10 minutes drive from the bustle of Las Americas, you find the traditional working farm of “La Caldera”, nestling in a lush valley, surrounded by breathtaking scenery, volcanic mountains, reservoirs, forests and canyons. The farm is situated in a protected area of outstanding natural beauty, fringed by orange groves, avocado trees and a banana plantation. Here you are free to trek with our horses and guides into a “secret” Tenerife, seen by few outsiders.

While on holiday in Tenerife a friend and I decided to try something different. We heard about this horse riding stable and that they offer a riding tour around a working banana plantation. Although I had never been on a horse before I decided to give it a go and I was so glad I did. The lady running it... More

We decided to try the 1 hour session since we have no experience. We went with Karen who was really great. She chatted away and explained what was around us. She showed us how to sit properly on the horse and how to use the reins, she also took photos of us and emailed them to us. It was over... More

We went with 2 year old boy 2 times during the holidays. He enjoyed riding small pony and tall stallion through banana plantations, cows, goats, pigs and other horses. Stuff is brilliant and very welcoming. You need to make a reservation before coming to la granja.

I was recently in holiday in Tenerife in January 2013 with friends and as I have been riding for over 12 years I was keen to book a hack. I had previously searched for local stables from our apartment and found the reviews to be positive for 'La Caldera del Rey'. However, I was extremely annoyed and disappointed with the... More

Clean resort with lots to do and no rowdiness. It was a modern resort with plenty of pubs and restaurants and entertainment in most of them. Lots of modern shops to visit and some of them inexpensive. Nice walks along the esplanade and plenty of choice to eat out if required.
