I recently went here with my 7 year old stepdaughter and my 1 year old girl. The play areas are of a decent standard but they are separated for under 4's and over 4's. However... read more

Had fantastic Latte there this morning. It was hot, had a great taste. Most importantly, it was delivered with a SMILE. Listen up, Costa!

The idea and buildings are great, but the toilet facilities and quality of food does let it down. Disappointing really as the town really benefits from such an amenity. CJ's could be so much better if managed correctly.. Shame :(

We visit Captain Jacks at least once a week and we always leave in a good mood. There is plenty for younger children to do. The age is from Birth to 12 but I do think the place suits up to around 8. You have the soft baby play area, the under 4 climbing area and then the over 4's... More

Had a lovely few hours here today with my grandson and friends. Warm welcome, lovely staff, great things to do. We had lunch which was faultless. Just one gripe. Why, in a place designed for toddlers and small children, are there no child friendly toilets, washbasins etc?

Myself and my son and my friend and her children congregate at Captain Jacks every Tuesday. We've always loved this place and always have a meal which saves us cooking at home! The meals are fantastic value for money and you can tell it's real quality food. The staff are friendly and the £1 after school deal is priceless to... More

I recently went here with my 7 year old stepdaughter and my 1 year old girl. The play areas are of a decent standard but they are separated for under 4's and over 4's. However this was not the case when I was there, there were older children in the toddler section jumping around everywhere which made it unsafe for... More

Excellent playbarn, not too expensive, plenty of seating, easy to see your kids, sensory room is also very good. Coffee n cake is reasonable price

I have visted a few time in the last year and I find it ok, the kids seem to enjoy it but I do think the toilets need cleaning or improving as they do smell, also the door has a faulty catch so when people go through to leave it is left ajar which is a safety issue

Not keen at all on Captain Jacks. I live in Retford and have 3 children so often invited to parties there. It's over-priced for standard of facilities it offers. Not safe/secure for several reasons. 1: older children often stray into areas designed for small children and nothing is done about it. 2: soft play area for babies/toddlers is not enclosed... More

I had previously written a lengthy review but this has been removed. Not sure why because it outlined my opinion. We attended a party which was very poorly organised. The staff were letting anyone in the party games room even though the host was telling them they wasn't invited. Some parents do not take charge of their children which I... More
