One of the cutest points of interest in the beautiful town of Citta della Pieve. The tiniest street possible called "the lane of the kissing ladies". The story is that neighbors detested each other and did not want their homes adjoining so they are separated by just centimeters. Not sure of the veracity of this tale, but it makes for... More

If ever in Citta Della Pieve, find this "narrowest street in Italy". Literally only 2-3 feet wide, it is a curiousity in a very quaint Umbrian hill town. Get there by way of Chianciano Terme train station/taxi ride, or of course, by car. All of C.D.Pieve is laid back, and refreshing! (I visited in Fall, 2009)

Love this little lane - The Kissing Street to me is the most interesting lane in Citta Della Piave. You must be heard of the myth of this story, and it is nice if you would to testify the space yourself.

You'll experience some of the narrowest streets in Italy, and every street is nicely decorated with flowers. Citta della Pieve is a beautiful small town - fiats, motorcycles, flowers, narrow streets, italian flags, brick buildings, beautiful views, osterias and nice restaurants. Defintely worth visiting if you're in this area!

Rumor has it that the owners of the two adjacent homes were in a feud and did not want their properties joining, hence the tiny street in between. Called the kissing street of the woman, it is narrow enough that one man could lean out the window of one home and kiss the woman in the other. But if they... More
