Not a bad experienceo visited Tropical Spice Garden last Saturday with my beloved wife and 3 childs. We did a little bit of walking and down the small hill. The garden part hast been kept quite nicely but not the common facilities like the playground and the area out from the garden boundary. There is a hut serving herbal tea... More

The view at sunset is amazing with the different hues of purple over monkey habited bay. Restaurant is tranquil with to be expected friendly Thai service. The food has some original features with the Thai Tapas, grilled fishes and stir fries second to none in Penang for Thai food. Their curries did however lack little depth of flavour and spice.

We came here on my husband's 60th birthday in April. The gardens are everything the other 5*reviewers have said. Beautiful tranquil oasis. We know this part of the world well but we still learned new things about the plant life and spices on a tour which was great fun. We then went for a Nyonya cooking course which I can... More

W took the guided tour around spice garden and got to learn about the different herbs. The walk was relaxing and the garden was well maintained. At the end of the tour, you can purchase tge herbs and handmade soaps (realized the soups were made in China). the only downside was that gents washroom has many bees.

This place is a wonderful botanical garden where you can walk around and relax. Tranquility would be the correct word to use. Beautiful flowers, the lay out of this garden is absolutely breath taking. Visiting the store where you can purchase spices that are actually local grown. Having a coffee or Thai dinner at the Monkey Tree restaurant is an... More

Went to the Tropical Spice Garden with my family in July 2014. Took the tour package and our tour guide, Sham, was fantastic! Very knowledgeable and very interactive tour. I would definitely want to visit the garden again.

A nice relaxing way to spend some time wondering through beautiful tropical gardens. You feel like you are wondering through a jungle but it is just a taste of the jungle without going off the beaten track. Nice place for photos. They have a wonderful Café within the grounds, 'Tree Monkey Cafe'- the food is divine and fresh. It is... More

This is an interesting place to have a look at, the audio is good as it explains everything in the garden in whatever order you like. It's really hot! They give you spray for mosquitoes but just remember to put some on yourself before hand just in case. The gift shop has all different spices you can buy as well.... More

I loved the restaurant and the grounds but I am not a fan of audio tours, also the tea hut is unmanned and the tea available there was chrysanthemum with stevia today...like really? Seemed odd. The guided tour takes 1.5 hours and costs R39 the audio R10 less ded.

The garden itself is quite beautiful and well laid out. Th actual spices took second place to the rest of the jungle environment which I felt was a big plus. Keep an eye out for wildlife. We saw a huge lizard, what looked like a squirrel and something else we're yet to identify, my wife thinks some sort of huge... More
