This was a delightful walk through, interesting and informative especially with the remote guide. To take full advantage, give yourself plenty of time to enjoy the paradise that has been created. Also, enjoy the invitation to dip your feet into the guppy pool. It's a fresh water pool that invites your feet to be cleaned by the resident guppies. The... More

The Tropical Spice Gardens was the first stop on our whirlwind trip to Penang. The Cruise ship arrived at 3 pm and the Spice Gardens closed by 5. After the Spice Gardens we went to the Butterfly Garden close by that also closed around 5:30 or 6 pm. We had a whirlwind tour of about 30 minutes. The minimum recommended... More

Fantastic garden showcasing a wide variety of Flora from all over the world, it isn't just limited to spices. It was fantastic way to spend the afternoon with a very informative audio tour where you could pick and choose what you wanted to learn about, giving you the opportunity to also just enjoy the garden. There were also some fun... More

i love this place for its tranquility... they provide tour, if you know nothing about spices, you can join the tour, as a local, since I already know most of the spices, i just walk there and enjoy this beautiful place!

We really enjoyed our walk around the spice gardens, it is super well organised with insect repellent a map and an audio device given, the little café looked beautiful although we didn't eat there and their gift shop was a nice place to but different gifts to take home.

A really nice and interesting get away from the busy attractions. Paths meander around forests with many plants and very interesting free audio tour detailing the spices and the history of Penang and the spice trade. Gift shop is very good for spices and gifts, restaurant is brilliant for Thai and Malaysian food with stunning views. Only downside is a... More

We stepped into a lush oasis when we walked through the gates of Tropical Spice Garden. To be able to wander through this paradise with audio telling you about the exotic plants, flowers and animals before you is educational and pleasant. We wish we could have spent more time here so we will have to go back again for a... More

Really loved this place. So much to see - too much! Super swing. Have a free ginger tea and sit down at the Bamboo Garden then a super lunch in the restaurant with monkeys swinging all around. Need lots of mosquito repellent!

The garden is well maintained and there are lots of trees and plants to see with very beautiful gardens and ponds. Highly recommended for nature lovers or even students who are keen on getting some historical/botanical knowledge about various plants. There is a small café near the exit and they serve good spiced coffee. Carry a cap and some water.
