Very nice walk through a Malaysian forest with every conceivable herb & spice under cultivation. There cooking classes are the best way to get the most out of this visit as you get to learn the different uses of spices. The Rapid Penang bus stops right out the front too, so it's very convenient.

Enjoyed the walking tour and learnt a lot about the different plants - we did the audio tour which was interesting and informative. Even our teenage son was happy to explore the different pathways and, of course, the giant swing! The staff were very pleasant and helpful.

It's worth paying for the guided tour and a good way to see a huge variety of tropical plants and trees in one location. The gift shop had some better quality gifts than the markets but did seem a bit pricey.

I visited based on previous reviews, and the proximity to my hotel. It was certainly an interesting place, and the gardens are well maintained. The audio guide is good, but I would have preferred to have joined a guided tour (at extra cost). I arrived at 11:30am, and a sign at the gate said that a guided tour would leave... More

Very good the guided tour. We smell and tasted all kind of herbs used as spices. We tasted stevia leaves and admired cinnamon trees, galangal and ginger plants and many others. And enjoyed a complimentary wonderful cup of herbal tea in the garden, after the delightful walk throught the spice garden! The garden is small, still developing, but well kept... More

walking through this amazing garden you get the real sense of a rain forest with the added bonus of pathways to make the going a little easier. yes you will sweat and you need your bottle of water but if you actually slow down to appreciate it all, the cooling effect of the trees takes the heat out of the... Unplanned trip. Passby and decide to go in for a viait. No regret as i always curious to know how living herb and spice looks like. I choose audio guide and its decent enough to provide me all the info i need during the tour. Huge collection of living plants. Whole trip took nearly 2 and a half hour as... More

This is a great little trip. Me and my girlfriend visited today, we opted for the audio guide rather than the live tour and didn't regret it. The positives: I asked for mosquito spray and they were more than happy to provide it free of charge. We learned many interesting things about the plants that we never knew previously (it... More

Having just missed the guided tours, I took an audio tour of the gardens. The gardens were beautiful and it was clear that a lot of time and effort is put into their maintenance. However, the audio tour became tedious after a while and I lost interest and decided to wander on my own. There were a number of places... More
