My wife and I went there at the end of Jun. We bought a ticket of self audio-guided tour from the entrance and staff give us a quick spray to prevent insect bite. The battery-powered audio-guide can be put on with a necklace attached. We choose the fast track as it it quite hot that day. There is quite a... More

It's worth a visit. We opted for the audio guide and only got through about half of the guide after an hour. Beautiful and interesting. Be ready for mosquitoes! I covered myself with the provided mosquito repellent but still got a few bites. The gift shop has many spices from the region. A little pricey but the spice mixes make... More

The Spice Gardens are worth a visit. We had a guided tour which was great and provided more detail than we expected. We learnt so much about plants and of their uses. We spent a couple of hours here and we did not get bored. The guide also pointed out some of the animals in the forest which the kids... More

We accidentally found this place when we stayed on our bus too long and massively overshot our original destination. But we were pleasantly surprised but what a great day out it turned to be. Informative and chilled out, we learned a lot and enjoyed the relative peace and quiet after the hustle and bustle of the town. There were excellent... More

This was our (husband, 13yo son & myself) first 'tourist' stop in Penang. We opted for the audio tour as opposed to personal guide as it was a little cheaper. We were a little surprised at the entrance fee - displayed price does not include 16% in taxes they add on when you pay. Insect repellant is supplied on entry.... More

Easy travel by bus to get here, either 102 or 101 from George Town or Butu. Can either do guided tour or with head set. Everything is explained well and head set allows a quick tour. Walk can be a bit steep in places and it does get very hot and humid. Full tour would take just under 2 hrs... More

Lush, cooling and serene. It is a perfect getaway from the busy offerings on Penang. Spice garden is informative and chilled in a no-stress manner. You get the cooling jungle feel, caressed by the sea-breeze with a hill view. Its finely located resaurant provides a great dining experience for familes and couples alike.

We took the Hop-On Hop-Off Beach tour towards Batu Ferringhi and the bus stop is right in front of the garden. The audio guide suited us well and the supplied map guided us well around the garden. Since spices are very important ingredient for the Malaysian cooking, this tour explains you well about the spice trading history and how the... More

very impressive experience! I was advised to visit it by the receptionist of my hotel! It was the first time I used the interactive service by clicking on number that you wanna go on the garden map, then we can listen to the information and history about plants or herbs....I haven't experienced something like that....wonderful! Before you go around the... More
