Arriving mid to late afternoon, it was a mixture of a seaside resort, and Swiss lake resort. It is a lovely place, population about 300,000 ish. The views from the upper peripheral roads are well worth the three wheeler taxi ride.

Nice place to do shopping and walk around. Mall Rd itself is beautiful day or night. I liked the night market on Mall Rd. For day, walk around the market area next to the cricket oval. Town itself is beautiful to walk around.

Nainital is a highly crowded place. It is better if you visit Nainital in off season to have more pleasant stay there.

As this was my first road trip with my family, in hilly terrain, love the ambiance. This is good destination for a short trip and to explre more there are more good destinations like Raniket, Kausani, Almora, Binsar which are nearby if you are extending the trip.

This is my first to Nainital. A real good place to visit during summers. The weather is very pleasant. There are lots of places closer to Nainital and one can make Nainital the base point to visit other places. Corbett National Park, Ranikhet, Mukhteshwar, Sataal, Naukuchitaal, & Bhimtaal, all these places are nearby and can be visited within 4 -... More
