We did the National Park tour through Farm Stay and it was great! Transport to and from, lunch, entry to two of the caves, kayaking and swimming in the caves too. The tour guides were really knowledgable and we learnt a or about the history around there during the Vietnam War. A great day out and really good value for... More

This cave is actually in Phong Nha NOT Dong Hoi. You are much better off going to the town of Phong Nha and getting a tour from there or going on your own.

we just walked to the tour counter and bought two tickets for the boat and a ticket for the cave entrance fee and that was all that was needed. Super easy! The caves were beautiful and since we didn't though it's up to her company we were the only ones in the caves which means even better! Don't miss Son... More

So far, Phong Nha National Park has been a highlight in our trip through Vietnam. The place is amazing, and is just starting to see an influx of tourists. My recommendation is to rent a motorbike and do the national park loop, stopping at the different caves and waterfalls. Loved it!

I got the chance to visit 2 caves: 1) The first one called Phong Nha was really beautiful. We went in by boat. The time to get to the cave was pretty long though (about 45 minutes if I'm not mistaken), but I got the chance to see the nature and the scenery a bit. We passed by some locals... More

Travelling up to the cave by boat then to experience the beauty as it opened up inside was sensational. Ben from the Phong Nha Homestay had clued us in on the significance of the cave during the American War. A must see.

Really enjoyed this, its all about the boat. We found it really relaxing being paddled through the cave. Go early to avoid the crowds.

I initially tried to ride my bike to the cave and go exploring without a tour but I had to turn around and return to the tourist center to purchase the ticket for the boat ride in. Luckily I grouped together with other tourists that were there so with 11 people on a boat our total cost was 190k Dong... More

Take a boat into the cave! The boat trip itself is wonderful, up a river, by rice paddies and through the karst landscape of Phong Nha Ke Bang National Park. Then walk to see magnificent cathedrals.

A dragon boat takes you to this cave and they row the boat quietly through the cave. At some point you can get out of the boat and walk around the cave. For some reason, we both had tears at this point! Who can explain these things?! Maybe the wonder of nature. It was quite magical really. This is a... More
