This is an absolute must see! While biking from South to North we by accident heard about Phong Nha and decided to go see it. This sleepy area is possibly one of my favourite memories of Vietnam, the caves located in the mountains with vast lime stone Kasts all around gives you the quintessential feel of being in Asia. Phong Nha caves are a must see! Paradise cave is huge and beautiful, go in the morning. Very interesting - be prepared for lots of tourists though. My favourite was by far Dark Cave, such a great experience. Zip lines over a turquoise river, exploring through the dark muddy cave with head torches, swimming in a big muddy pond, swimming... More

Phong Na cave is an amazing place to visit. The mountains surrounding the cave and the boat ride in are breath taking. Being inside the cave itself is like being on another planet. We travelled with Tan Nhat Travel (TNT) who were informative, polite and very easy going. Their package was excellent and pricing very competitive. Highly recommend.

It is impressive and beautiful. Paradise cave looks like another world and the highlight in the dark cave for me was the mud pool, so much fun!!! Ending the trip swimming in the river was bliss! Definetely a must do!

Paradise Cave is beautiful and a fairly easy walk down into it as there are stairs and walkways throughout (the stairs back out may be a bit of an effort for older or out-of-shape travelers). The caves are well lit without a tacky light show that can be expected from most VN attractions. The Dark Cave is the best experience!... More

We unfortunately went to the Paradise cave first, so anything afterwards could not compare. That said the caves are quite good and it is nice to go through on the boat. The best part however is probably the bit at the end which you walk through.

We took a long 6 hours car ride to do this. I am glad we did. The caves are beautiful. We enjoyed the boat ride along the river within the caves. The caves are huge....
