It's like the Carter's for Pondi. Extremely crowded on weekdays. But good place for families as it is one of the places still on when other Pondi places have shut.

It is a picturesque promenade along the rock beach and perfect for a morning/evening walk! There is a nice collection of food and shopping places along the road as well! The wind is refreshing to say the least.

If one has not taken an early morning walk by the beach promenade of Pondicherry then he had missed the spirit of Pondicherry

Seaside Promenade is a good place to visit in the mornings or evenings. The area is filled with many small shops that sell many good items like ornaments made of shell, handicrafts, etc. Do try the small popcorn shop which is in the road that sells around 5-6 varieties of corn. Parking your vehicles can be tricky during weekend or... More

It's a great place to relax in the evening. A nice long stretch for a walking too with great views of the sea. It is very crowded during the weekends. And if your hungry you can head to Le cafe situated on the promenade, which serves good snacks.

Good in the afternoon and evening, turns into a circus 6-10PM. Well maintained by puducherry municipality (does not mean people dont litter). Google can collaborate with govt to give a crowd estimate (just like red and green lines in google maps). Too many people in one place is not great.

No cars in the evening so very safe to walk. Also - there is a cafe in the middle of the walk where you can enjoy a coffee and snacks - worth visiting!

Have been to Pondicherry few times and spending time on this beach is first and the last thing I want to do. Few beers and a walk along the beach is the most relaxing activity this city offers. There are good restaurants along the beach/road side. Best time to be here is at night. Its less crowded then.
