The beach is black but lovely to see the sunset and equally bathe in the sun nice size not too busy at this time of year. There are parasols and loungers there too.
Santarini is fantastic, as is Kamari, but the beach wasnt our cup of tea at all!
Cant be helped of course, the island is volcanic.
We are beach fans and much prefer it to the pool but in my view you cant beat soft white sand, then you know your on your hols!

Sun, black sand & sea...! I have been going regularly to Santorini for the past 31 years...I will return..tavernas are all reasonably priced & staff friendly...
The beach in Kamari was very nice and quiet at the end of April but would imagine in the summer it gets very busy. Nice and clean. Black sand seems a bit odd to begin with
there had been a storm recently so the beach was not inviting, black sand Many tavernas along the front were still closed so eating out was limiting. A light meal for 6 with drinks was 120euros
Santorini is amazing we loved it.Kamari is a picture perfect village with nice beach and many restaurants.
We were there 3 years ago. There is nothing I didn't love about the beach! Lots of spots to choose from (shady, sunny, by a cabanna, PAID sun chairs (we bought our own inexpensive beach mats locally and chose our own spot! for the cost of the mat!)

The beach is covered with umbrellas and deck chairs that are 'for hire' and hardly a place to lie on the sand. The place itself is lovely but the rampant commercialism is a downer. Take the boat around the headland to Perrisa its an experience.
Kamari lacks the charm and character that Perissa has despite the two beaches only being separated by a huge rock. It's far too open and rather bleak as a result. The 'entertainment' along the shore is comprised of hotels and bars or bars of the hotels and not much else.
