A great museum with so much to see and so much history of the glacier. The view of the glacier is so beautiful. We did not hike but spoke to many who did and they said it was great.

We were lucky enough to strike good weather and the mountain and surrounds took your breath away. Best way to really see Mt. Cook and the glaciers is by helicopter. We went with Heliworks who are based at Mt. Cook. They were fantastic and well worth it. Mike our pilot was great and landed us on one of the glaciers... More

We did spot Mount Cook from the Fox and Franz glaciers but going up the one way road to Mount Cook village past Lake Pukaki was absolutely superb. There are also walks that let you get near the small lake with large bits of the ice floating in them. A long drive of about 100 UK but worth it !

Not so much place for tourists, a bit remote, everything closes at 17:00, so great to have some peace of mind.

We came quite lake (7 pm), so it was Mordor-like scenery, but it still took our breath away. First of all the way to the Mt. Cook is so beautiful! 1-1,5 hours of hiking around to see close attractions around (Blue Lakes, for example). There is also a 5 hours hiking track, and I am sure it worths a try!... More

Aoraki/Mt. Cook is a glorious mountain in the Southern Alps. We had a spectacular day, and the mountain simply got better and better with the approach. We went late in the day and took a brief walk, but, if given our druthers, would have preferred to visit in the morning and make a day of it. Visit the Visitor Centre... More

I enjoyed this spectacular site very much. It was,a clear day and Mt. Cook, was magnificent. I hiked the Hooker trail which had beautiful vistas from many different perspectives. I also.enjoyedmthe excellent documentary about the life of Edmund Hillary. It was fascinating to learn new aspects of his, life. the museum about his life is,also, excellent and the displays are most informative.

We were actually not planning on going there, glad we did. Take the approx. 1 1/2 hr hike, this will bring you to a lake with small "icebergs" floating in them and a great view of Mt. Cook. Take your time the hike itself has spectacular views throughout.
