The surrounding scenery varies from the glacial fed Lake Pukaki and the surrounding rugged high country landscape to the soaring peaks and mighty glaciers of the Southern Alps. The Helicopter Line provides a range of scenic flights that venture into this alpine wonderland and offer you the privileged views. « less

We were scheduled to fly at 9.00am Monday. However the mountains were covered with low cloud. We were advised that we could sit and wait if we wanted as the cloud may lift in a few hours. At 4.00pm we were told that there would not be any flights that day. We decided to delay our departure and try again... More

We arrived early and were able to change our booking. We did the Mountains High 45 minute flight and landed on Franz Josef Glacier on a picture perfect postcard day. So glad we landed on the snow - it was magic. The flight around Mt Cook and Mt Tasman was fabulous - so up close and personal. There were 6... More

The scenery, situation and the fact that you are flying through it make this trip. The fact that the pilot was terse and almost incommunicate could not detract. My 2 questions once we had landed on the snowfield were replied with a grunt and a dismissive attitude so I simply gave up and absorbed the experience. I do highly recommend... More

We made the booking in the morning and did the flight the same day at 3.30. We drove here from Wanaka wich is a beautiful drive with plenty places to stop for great photos. After a very short safety briefing we could go on board. I could sit in the front next to the pilot (do so if you can,... More

Although it was expensive, it was superb! We first wanted to go with Mount Cook Scenic Flights, because of the more reviews. However, they were fully booked and we went to The Helicopter Line. We think now it was a very good decision! We did the premium flight of 45 minutes, because they include both Franz Josef and Fox Glaciers.... More

I want to start off by saying I am terrified of flying but my friend that I was traveling with really wanted to do the flight, which of course was one of the longest flights - mountain high option. We flew to a mountain range that was directly in line with Mt. Cook, there was a little bit of cloud... More

Well organised office made booking easy as I had to add in on another group as I was alone. They rang me in enough time for me to get to Twizel for take-off. A wonderful experience walking on top of the glacer covered in snow. More
