It was quiet and uncrowded and the powder snow was amazing. The owner of the field was out and about working and all the staff were friendly and helpful. It snowed again at lunchtime so there was fresh snow in the afternoon as well. Brilliant.

Awesome field good facilities with nice views over the top looking down on Lake Tekapo. Also check out nearby Aoraki Cottage Farm Stay who have cabins and back packers bunkrooms to stay at.

This was my first time snowboarding and it was a really great place to start. The bunny hill is a good size and consessions are good with some nice warm coffee and booze if you need to just relax for a bit. The staff were all very friendly and you won't get a nicer drive on the way there. Staying... More

Friendly, not too crowded, no lift queues, great skiing off and on piste. Great place for kids to learn on sunny beginner and intermediate slopes, but also good for advanced skiers.

Mt Dobson boasts one of the true best catchments of powder snow in the south Canterbury region, and August / September is the month to go check it out -we went from staying in Timaru, an hours drive to the carpark. We couldn't make it on the Saturday and went to Roundhill, but Sunday Mt.Dobson was THE place to be.... More

Great little club field. Access road can ice up as part of it is in the shade. Not too big and it doesn't get overly crowded. Not to expensive. If there is fresh snow around then I would head here.

Dobson is great, we've made the long trip down there several times to ski, and have always loved it. The access road is mostly OK, on a par with most, and better than many, and is always very well groomed. The base buildings are a jumble of huts, but we are not there to sit inside, we are there to... More

We drove up to look, but did not ski....purely to acquaint ourselves. There are good slopes and runs, with a triple chair and a pommel. A platter for the beginners. Few people using the field, and there were quite a few rocks starting to show. I was very impressed with the access road...altho very narrow, it is well cared for... More
