We got to visit this park while staying in Uruapan on an organized tour. It was only a 15-minute walk from the downtown area. Admission was 25 pesos. I was surprised at how pretty the park was with charming paths, lush vegetation, a small stream and numerous man-made waterfalls, pools and displays. It reminded me of something you would expect... We live an hour and a half drive away from the park, so have visited several times. It is a place we often bring visitors to the area. You spend two or three hours walking on paths along the rushing Cupatitzio river (there is a main path that one can stay on, and other side trails for those who wish... More

This was a great day trip from where we were staying in Patzcuaro. All natural beauty in the middle of a big city. Clean bathrooms too, always a plus! Great for all ages.

The national park is a visit you must do when you are in uruapan. It is a place surrounded by vegetation and natural waterfalls. Is a place you can have a morning walk, and enjoy the benefits of nature. There is a new walking corredor next to the park that takes you next to the river to the old San... More

I came here expecting to see a river that appears out of nowhere and then disappears. I got so much more. For starters, made it there by way of second class bus. Sadly, no chickens, but no a/c, and the entertainment was provided by a passenger's boom box. When the bus stopped in the middle of nowhere for seemingly no... More

This is such a beautiful park, and can be a destination in itself. Other reviewers have told you most everything you need to know. We spent 2 1/2 hours there and could have stayed longer, but we were getting hungry and wanted to see some of Uruapan's other attractions. We travelled around parts of Michoacan by bus and found the... More

Honestly, I have never seen or felt anything like this. Water everywhere! Lush. Plants. Trees. Birds. Flowers. Tranquility. Greenness. Water. Everywhere. OMG. What a treat for the eyes and senses. Absolutely magnificent and worth a trip to this area for this very reason. Uruapan. Avocado capital of the world. Fabulous coffee growing area. Macadamia nuts - check. Cacao- yup. World... More

Nice walk through the beautiful tropical gardens and waterscapes. Ask for one of the kids / locals to tell you about the legend of the park, its very cool.

Entrance is free to residents of Uruapan, and they must be grinning to themselves every time they enter. We found this park to be well done, and a literal oasis from the city. The vegetation is lush. The sound of the river is therapeutic. The water is blue. The common areas are taken care of. A wonderful place for a... More
