Small town in shipyard area and nothing to special for foreign People. Four star hotels 80 five star hotels 120 usd per night including breakfast I only advise that area called "new city" tesco or local named li-goao You can find different kind of western place and kapanyaki kind Japanese restoran

We went to Taohua zai. It was so beautiful man made setting. It was well known from a famous Taiwan novel. Almost everyone knows it. Finally see it in my eyes. Next day morning, went hike to Anqi mountains, hiked for 5 good hours. It was rainy on and off and on the top mountain, there are foggy and cold.... More

Fascinating to see the devout pilgrims as this is an important island for Buddhism but I was put off by the non stop fees for every place you wanted to see, even after paying to get on the island. You see Monks asking for money which you would never see in Laos or Thailand for example. The food is expensive... More

Wild island with beautiful sights all over. Taxi will most likely carry you to the hostels facing the main beach, southward. From there, you can either access the beach or hike to the Anqi peak. Unless you are not easy to get tired it's a really worthwhile (45 Y) experience: there are temples, a pagoda, a bamboo house, a lake... More

You can stay on the island, however we decided to stay on a bigger island and ferry-hop to Taohua. Tip: last ferry leaves at 17:00. We had a lovely day on the island.
